Hosting a Project Zomboid Dedicated can be done in Windows and Linux. To get started download the server files from your steam client.
- Go to your Library and then Tools.
- Scroll until you see "Project Zomboid Dedicated Server" and download/install it.
Ok from there you can just run the dedicated server and it will run with default settings.
- Windows: In the installed Folder Use the batch file provided to start the server in either 32/64 bit (StartServer32.bat/StartServer64.bat)
- Linux: in the installed folder type this in the terminal, bash start-server.sh
