Transcript Data Dump

Hm... Well I've spent a significant portion of time cutting down the RadioData.xml file into easily readable and understandable text... But I'm not sure if it really fits here well. You can check it out on Adverts. I'm not sure how many files we really want to just dump onto the wiki - even if they are made readable.

I figured before I went ahead and did that, I'd make sure that it is okay. My primary concern is: is it proper? I would certainly like to have them accessible, but I'm honestly not sure if it violates a TOS to share so much of the game's data? My next concern, if the first concern was alleviated is how would the formatting of the data work? I think there is FAR too much to put onto the pages for the respective stations - would transcript pages for each channel be appropriate?

Hope we can have a bit of a conversation about it. As cool as I think it would be to access the transcripts via the wiki, I'd hate to break TOS or simply do work on something completely unnecessary because it has nowhere to go.

Well, I took a look at their Terms and Conditions found on projectzomboid.com[1] and it seems to indicate that it is within what the community is allowed to do. As this is a significant chunk of data, I've also sent them an email regarding their thoughts on the matter - if they're fine with basically all of the dialog being available online for free. Beyond that, we still have the discussion of if this is something we actually want on the Wiki - is it too in depth? Is there such a thing? We provide the Data sections on items, I think that transcripts could also be nice to have available and not in XML format.

I received an email back from them, they said to go ahead with it but that the pages should probably have a note that the lore in general may change as development continues. A list of the transcripts can be found here and also accessed via each media channel's respective page.

Navbox for media stations

Hey all, I was wondering if a Navbox for media stations would be a good idea. It would help link all media pages together since some users would probably want to explore multiple. - Thing II (talk) 02:23, 20 April 2021 (BST)

I've gone ahead and done it, it can be seen here Template:Navbox/Core. If it is not up to par or ultimately unnecessary, I suggest some other way to navigate between them.

Final Stages

Hello,

I have just crossed off the final official item on the job board. As we enter the final steps of the project I'll be spending the next little bit checking each article, making any changes that may be needed, and doing the final checks.

Please feel free to let me know either here, on my talk page, or on discord (@piousgalaxy or in the wiki editing channel) of anything that may be missing, incorrect, or otherwise need work.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone that has contributed, especially those at the start of the project. Even though we may have never spoken your contributions have ultimated in a significantly improved experience for players across the world.

Thank you! I'm just now going through your changes, doing minor build-41 related cleanups, but so far everything seems fine; good to have another project off to be closed before the end of the month! Unless something happens, I'm gonna leave it open for a week or so and then close it before the end of the month. Thanks a lot for the help! :) —Faalagorn/ 14:49, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
