Survivor stories are randomized stories that can appear in the game.

Building stories

These events are randomly spawned in buildings marked as residential by the game.

Bedroom Zed

Two zombies will spawn in only their underwear behind a bedroom door, insinuating they were up to something freaky only to be interrupted by being turned by the infection.^[verify]

Prison Escape

One or more zombies will spawn inside a house (or outside it) wearing a prisoner jumpsuit and a duffel bag.

Skeleton Psycho

A psycho will spawn and a group of skeletons.

Corpse Psycho

A psycho will spawn and a group of

House Party

Chips, cigarettes, beer and liquor will spawn in the interior, and the zombie count inside may be increased. Zombies may also be wearing special clothing, such as Party Hat.

Tin foil hat family

Group of zombies wearing a tin foil hat will spawn

Hockey Psycho friday 13th!

In this event, a number of corpses spawn inside the house while one zombie is dressed as fictional serial killer Jason Voorhees, adorned with a machete, leather jacket and of course a hockey mask. This is an ]]ll|Easter eggs|Easter egg]] nodding toward the Friday the 13th slasher movie series.

Vehicle stories

There exist some extra vehicle stories as well.

Basic Car Crash

A common road event is that of two spawned cars with low condition, possibly even wrecked and unusable. Zombies involved in the crash may also spawn nearby.

Ambulance Crash

Like the former car crash event, but involving an ambulance as one of the cars. This will spawn one or two additional zombies dressed in patient gowns.

Table stories are different sets of items that can spawn on table surfaces around Knox County. Some require a surface of at least two tiles wide and can only spawn in a certain room.

Electronic

Electronic set of items can spawn in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom on any table surface. 4 items are guaranteed to spawn:

; ; ; - One Electronics Magazine will spawn each one having 25% chance to be chosen. - One Screwdriver is guaranteed to spawn. - One Scrap Electronics is guaranteed to spawn. ; ; ; ; ; - Each electronic item listed has around 33.3% chance to spawn

Sandwich

Every kitchen and living room table has a chance to spawn an item set that can be used to make a sandwich on its surface. Sandwich Table Story is the only way to find Bread Slices naturally. 5 items are guaranteed to spawn:

; - Both ingredients have 50% chance to spawn. - One Bread is guaranteed to spawn. - One Bread Slices are guaranteed to spawn. - One Bread Knife is guaranteed to spawn with random condition. - One Peanut Butter is guaranteed to spawn.

Sewing

Two sets of items related to sewing can be found on tables of every kitchen, living room and bedroom. There are two distinct variants that can spawn:

Variant 1

; - 2 pairs of socks are guaranteed to spawn, with around 33.3% chance to spawn a third pair. Each pair has a 50% chance to be either short or long socks. - One Thread is guaranteed to spawn. - One Sewing Kit is guaranteed to spawn. - One Scissors are guaranteed to spawn with random condition.
