Howdy!

Well hello! It's nice to hear from someone, and I'm glad you caught the spam filter haha. This is my first experience on the wiki, if it isn't apparent already, so you'll have to tell me if I'm doing anything horribly wrong. I've mostly been learning by hitting edit on other pages and checking out the syntax and what not. I'm not even entirely sure I'm responding to you correctly :P Ah, and how do I leave a time stamp with my username, or is that a manual effort? Thing_II(talk)

Good to know :) Thanks. I'm still experiencing some problems with the spam filter, mainly on the RecipeLookup template. For the crafting of a Timer, it shows an Alarm Clock as the output, incorrectly. It's a small problem, just bugs me a bit :P The timer is #7008 if you want to change it yourself, but don't worry about it. Thing II (talk) 21:02, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Hey Kirrus! Doing fine on my end. I hope you don't mind I went ahead and gave you all of the admin access that is available. I still pop in here mostly every day but not much going on except for a vandalism false alarm. Pianoman 22:11, 23 October 2013 (BST)

Kirrus, Very minor thing considering the latest news. There used to be a logo in the upper left-hand corner of wiki that I think might have been lost when the servers were changed. This was the old location of the logo: pzwiki.zombies.bluefirestorm.net/w/images/pzwlogo.png. I think that the default settings file ($wgLogo in particular) needs to be updated with the correct location for the logo. Thanks Pianoman 04:18, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Mods

This is a reply to removing the Community Mods link from the front page. Since it was ment to be for any mod it was not entirely self promotion. If you notice I did change my first edit to link to a 2nd page. I put the like under the modding page instead. however I doubt people can find it there. :/ - Hydro

Reply: I meant this revision. Where it links to more than just my mod.

New Sandbox Page

Evening Kirrus,

Can I have your time to review the main page sandbox, I'll be sending a similar message to Pianoman and Connall for feedback.

Link

Feel free to throw some feedback. The current main page is currently locked up due to several phrases such as n.umber and such preventing a update without removing elements of the page. We've had to lose the page counter for the meantime until the issue is resolved. I've also entered the navigation table, and separated articles by category.

Best regards,

Spam Filter

Hey Kirrus,

It's been a good 4 or 5 years so I'm not sure if you're still around, but I ran into the spam filter once again. You can see that on Wooden_Stake - its description contained a certain s*pport word which is evidently not allowed. Not sure if it should be whitelisted or what, but just making you aware!
Best,

Dedicated Server "$/#" Prompt

Hi, the use of $/# is relatively common syntax to denote regular versus root user commands to be run, and can even help clarify that something is supposed to be a command entirely run as root, before my modifications the use of "cat" to create the systemd files would be very difficult for someone non-technical to actually accomplish, as most people use "sudo" to elevate root access, and running that command requires modifications to make it compatible with sudo, instead it is much simpler if it is done from a root shell, which "#" implies.

The use of "$" to denote the shell prompt also makes it more clear that the "cat" commands should be copied and pasted in their entirety.

I would be happy to remove the "$" from most of the commands to make it easier to copy and paste them, but I believe there needs to be some clarification if commands should be run as root versus a regular user, especially to make it more accessible to non-technically minded users. At the same time I don't think it is especially difficult for users to just copy and paste the command applicable part ignoring the shell prompt, since the previous revision also did not lend itself to easy blind copy and pasting.

I will be happy to hear your thoughts, thank you!
