Usage

Water

Metal drums are used to collect rainwater, just like the rain collector barrels and take up one tile space. When it is raining, they will convert the rain into usable albeit tainted water that is unsafe to drink until boiled in a heat source, although it can be safely used to water plants and wash clothing or oneself without needing purification. It may also safely store drinking water if kept indoors. They are an alternative to the well or a body of water, such as a river or lake, in gathering water after the waterworks shut down.

It has a capacity of 800 which makes it a great alternative to other rain collectors

A metal drum can supply water to an entity that may be plumbed (sinks, baths, etc.), please see plumbing for more information.

Charcoal

A metal drum can be used to make 2 charcoal out of 5 logs.

Right-click the metal drum and chose Metal Drum and then click the Add Logs.

After it is filled it with logs it needs to lit just as a campfire, or some of the other heat sources.

Note: all 5 logs have to be in the in main inventory, and metal drum can't be filled out of your backpack or the floor.

Note

Please note that the metal drum can not be used for cooking, lighting, or warmth.

The developers seem to not having given the metal drum a lot of attention, notable due to the lack of features and the missing of a proper burning animation.

Distribution

It can be found at the camp site around Louisville.

It is not (yet) possible to craft the metal drum without installing mods.
