Opening Hours was a challenge game mode in Project Zomboid in which the player would be placed within the Crossroads Mall at 8:40 AM and have to survive against an endless horde of Zombies once the doors opened at 9:00 AM. Doors and windows made of normally indestructible metal security gates (normally only removable with a Sledgehammer) would open/shatter and an endless horde would enter the mall.
It was removed in the Build 41 update and has yet to return to the game.
The Opening Hours Challenge is available to be played through the Return of Opening Hours Challenge mod on the Steam Workshop, created by AuthenticPeach. The mod also includes updated menu cards for other challenges with Build 41 character models and unique fonts.
