Discuss Fishing Rod

Merge

I am for the merge. The item is hardly distinct and only functions as a means to obtain a Fishing Rod and is only obtained from a fishing rod when it breaks. In fact, it is already an alternate item in the fishing rod infobox.

We had several pages from before Build 41 that resulted from the item name changes (without/Without and line/Line) so now it should be settled. It's technically a separate item, as were on infobox though, so I gave it a separate entry. —Faalagorn☎/✓ 02:04, 5 March 2023 (UTC)

Leaving this here for archival purposes. Article merged with Fishing Rod, as discussed with Faalagorn. Reasons: 1) This is a variant of the Fishing Rod (see reasons mentioned by Thing II). 2) Stats are identical to the Fishing Rod, except it has no line, so cannot be used to fish. 3) Having a separate page for this would mean a separate page for other similar items like Fishing Net Trap and Broken Fishing Net Trap. 4) This is unrelated to the crafted Fishing Rod, which when the line breaks (as of build 41.78.16) turns into a Sturdy Stick (the concern here was that the crafted fishing rod turned into the fishing rod without line). - Vaileasys (talk) Wiki Administrator 10:28, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
