This template is used as a single point to reference carpentry crafting recipes – defined by the game's crafting categories.

Please use this template, so the recipe only needs to be updated in a single place, in case the recipe changes in a future update – along with the added bonus of quickly and easily displaying a crafting recipe on any page.

Usage

For a guide on how to display the table correctly, please refer to Crafting header.

See below for a step-by-step guide on how to add a recipe to an article:

  1. Insert the following snippet into your article:
  2.

    |}
  3. Replace the X with the index of the specific recipe you want to display. See Index reference for a list of available recipes.
  4. Add all the recipes you want to add. This can even be different types of recipes. I.e. Crafting general and Crafting cooking.
  5.

    |}
  6. Now replace the Y with the most number of ingredients required (add ing=Y for each entry first). This will shorten the table and make it look neater, by removing the unnecessary columns.
  7. In our above example, 1 is the largest number of ingredients for any recipe in our table. So: This:

    |}

    Produces:

Product XP gained Skill(s) Recipe Ingredient 1
    GunpowderJar.png
    Gunpowder
    0 XP none
    (consumed)
    Empty Bottle (Bourbon)
    Water Bottle (Bourbon)
    0 XP none WhiskeyFull.png
    Bourbon
    (consumed)

Note that the ing argument needs to be defined for the table contents too.

Edit existing recipe

It is inevitable that recipes will change as the game is continually developed. This may be as simple as changing the amount of XP gained, or completely changing how to make a Makeshift Ham Radio.

For how to create a new recipe refer to the below along with Crafting.

Getting started

  1. Go to Template:Crafting carpentry and not Template:Crafting carpentry/doc (current page will be bold)
  2. Click the Edit button at the very top, not the one next to Template documentation. Or click here to edit current page.

There are 5 main components to a crafting recipe:

  1. Product: The item/object that will be produced by the recipe.
  2. XP Gained: The amount and type of experience that will be gained when completing the recipe.
  3. Skill(s): The required skill level to unlock the recipe.
  4. Recipe: The required recipe magazines or occupation to unlock the recipe.
  5. Ingredient(s): The ingredients required in the recipe. There can be up to 11 different ingredients.

Product

The product uses the following parameters:

  1. product_image: The image used for the icon. For items this is displayed in the code section usually as icon.
  2. product_name: The name of the item. In most cases this is also the article name. For items this is displayed in the code section usually as DisplayName.
  3. product_quantity: The quantity this recipe will produce. Should be left blank if "1".

XP Gained

Xp Gained only uses a single parameter: xp.
This is the default amount of experience, with NO MODIFIER. This should be displayed as followed: 2.5 Cooking.

Skill(s)

Skill(s) only uses a single parameter: sl, short for "skill level".
This should be displayed as followed: CP = 7.

Recipe

Recipe only uses a single parameter: rec, short for "recipe". This is used to specify how to unlock the recipe (other than with a skill level), either by a trait, occupation or recipe magazine.

Ingredient(s)

Ingredient(s) uses the following parameters (Replace the # with the ingredient number):

  1. f#: This is the file/image that will display.
  2. i#: The item/object name that will display.
  3. q#: The quantity required in the recipe. Should be left blank if "1".
  4. tag#: A special tag used to display what will happen to this item/object in the recipe. E.g. (keep), (base item) or (consumed)
Note: "workstations" may use the tag to represent other requirements unique to the workstation. E.g. oven may have a cook time or temperature.

Multiple ingredients

Some ingredients can be substituted for other ingredients, such as the various different types of hammers.
The syntax for this is m#_α, where like the above, # is replaced with the ingredient number, and α is replaced with the number of "sub-" or "multi-" ingredient. There can be up to 10 multi-ingredients. The icon and name should be on one row with the icon set to 20px.
Example:

  | m1_1 = Saw
  | m1_2 = Garden Saw
  | q1 =
  | tag1 = (keep)

Note that the quantity (q1) and tag (tag1) can still be used.

Ingredient order

The order of ingredients should remain consistent, using the following order:

  1. Workstation: This may be an oven or any other workstation, especially those added in build 42 and beyond.
  2. Keep tag: These are usually tools, and are not consumed in the recipe.
  3. Base item tag: These are primary ingredients, and are usually consumed in the recipe.
  4. Consumed tag: These can be ordered based on significance to the final product, use your best guess.
