With the exception of the West Point location, the interior spans two floors, with the first floor being composed of the store, and the second being composed of an apartment, likely used by the owner of the local franchise.
Like most gas stations, Thunder Gas' convenience stores often contain a plethora of snacks, drinks, cigarettes, and literature items such as maps. In the upstairs apartments, the loot is similar to a standard house. The gas pumps can be used to refuel vehicles and fuel containers, as long as they are powered and have fuel remaining.

- While the Fallas Lake and Rosewood locations do not have a visible logo, zombies can spawn at those locations wearing a Thunder Gas T-shirt, effectively confirming that they are Thunder Gas franchises.
