Overview

The player can reduce boredom by -5 for each line of dialog when in the vicinity of a television playing the VHS.

The VHS can be used with an appropriate television to play the dialog between Alva Richards and the famous actor Pierce Daniels. Howie Zitron attorney-at-law advertisement plays before the show begins. The conversation opens up with the Pierce talking about his recent work of bringing life to the John Spiral character, the lead role in the Dying Strike movie. The show goes on about Pierce associating the structure of his works with of Shakespeare's. He is also criticizing the original Operation Fort Knox movie for being too crude and lacking vision.

Advert:

Local and best!
Even though I do say so myself!

Alva:

Welcome back. With me now is Pierce Daniels...
...the latest actor to take up the Wolfram P2K of superspy John Spiral.

Pierce:

Pleasure to be here, Alva.

Alva:

You're known for your work on the London stage.
Do you think Dying Strike offers a similar challenge to the works of the Bard?

Pierce:

It may not seem like it, but Shakespeare wrote for the masses.
His plays were meant as popular entertainment, like Dying Strike.
Perhaps Macbeth didn't have a jetpack in his backpack...
...and Hamlet didn't have a car fitted with missiles...
...but parallels, in other ways, are striking. Pardon the pun.
Our villain, Max Spiral, is a distorting mirror to John...
...much like Macbeth was to Banquo.

Alva:

Did your earlier role in Loveheart help you prepare?

Pierce:

Loveheart... is not a film I'm proud of.
A shallow movie, and one that is not a part of my soul.
Dying Strike is far superior, with themes of imperialism...
...masculinity, the role of violence in society...
...and a few car chases as well...

Alva:

One might say John Spiral is 'growing up'.

Pierce:

One might. The 1960s are over. Operation Fort Knox was fun and all...
...but what people want now is humanity. A Spiral who mourns after each kill.
Where each bullet of his P2K holds as much weight as a samurai's death poem.

Alva:

Interesting...

Location

The loot distributions can be found in the table(s) below.

VHS_Home distributionShow / Hide

Effective chance calculations are based off of default 'apocalypse' loot settings, with no luck modifier, and average zombie density. The higher the density of zombies in an area, the higher the effective chance of an item spawning. Chance is also influenced by the lucky and unlucky traits. Duplicate entries do exist, but have been removed for clarity.

Containers
Building/Room Container Effective chance
livingroom shelves 11.21%

This VHS will only spawn once and only in living room shelves, making it incredibly rare.
