Basic Gun Handling (Officer Use Only) is a unique VHS providing a handgun guide for police officers.

Overview

The player can reduce boredom by -5 for each line of dialog when in the vicinity of a television playing the VHS.

This educative VHS can be used with an appropriate television to play the monologue of a police officer teaching his fellow inexperienced officers how to handle handguns. The VHS itself not only gives decent firearm and reloading skill xp, but also shares couple tangible tips as to how to approach using a particular handgun in-game. All of the guns mentioned in transcript are present in the game.

Instructor:

Did you know that despite movie depictions of gun-loving police officers...
...approximately 75% of officers never fire their weapon in the line of duty?
But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be prepared to do so...
...as skilfully, and as efficiently as possible.
I'm Ron Carafe, former captain in the San Francisco Police Department...
...and today I'm going to show you the basics of handling firearms.
The M36 .38 Special revolver is a common and reliable sidearm.
Unlike magazine-based weapons, revolvers are far less likely to jam.
The M36 is light and easy to handle even for an amateur.
Let's fire a few rounds. Align the sight with the target, and squeeze the trigger...
*gunshots*
Reloading a revolver is slower than using a magazine, but the sound is much more satisfying...
The M9 pistol is a magazine-fed weapon that fires 9mm rounds.
Remember to rack your M9 before firing.
*gunshots*
The M625 is a meatier revolver chambered in .45.
The increased recoil means you'll have to be ready for the kick to your arm.
*gunshots*
Finally, hope you never come up against these. A D-E pistol and a .44 Magnum.
Let's fire them both together while diving through the air...
*screaming, extremely loud gunshots*
That was for demonstration purposes only. Do not try this in the line of duty.

Location

The loot distributions can be found in the table(s) below.

Effective chance calculations are based off of default 'apocalypse' loot settings, with no luck modifier, and average zombie density. The higher the density of zombies in an area, the higher the effective chance of an item spawning. Chance is also influenced by the lucky and unlucky traits. Duplicate entries do exist, but have been removed for clarity.

Containers
Building/Room Container Effective chance
livingroom shelves 11.21%

This VHS will only spawn once and only in living room shelves, making it incredibly rare.
