Combat Wound Management is a unique VHS providing some advanced military knowledge for treating wounds, given by a US corpsman.

Overview

The player can reduce boredom by -5 for each line of dialog when in the vicinity of a television playing the VHS.

The informative VHS can be used with an appropriate television to play the monologue of Chief Hospital Corpsman Ivan Phillip Keaton, teaching his fellow soldiers and medics how to approach to the typical combat wounds. Aside from the XP that can be earned, the information residing within the VHS tape is surprisingly useful and can be performed exactly as is in-game. Additionally, this VHS is the only other piece of recorded media that gives first aid XP to the player.

Ivan:

Hi there. I'm Chief Hospital Corpsman Ivan Phillip Keaton of the USMC.
We lost some good men fighting the forces of Saddam...
...but we would have lost a lot more without our skilled medical corps.
Today we're going to walk you through some typical combat wounds.
A lodged bullet must be extracted with a tweezers.
Disinfect the wound thoroughly.
Then the wound must be sutured with a suture needle and thread.
Finally, put a clean bandage over the wound.
Painkillers will help manage the pain...
...and antibiotics should be kept on hand in case of infection.
Pieces of metal or glass shrapnel follow a similar procedure.
Remove the shrapnel, then either bandage the wound if it's not deep...
...or disinfect, suture and bandage if it is.
Follow these steps and your soldiers will live to fight another day.
Semper fi!

Effective chance calculations are based off of default 'apocalypse' loot settings, with no luck modifier, and average zombie density. The higher the density of zombies in an area, the higher the effective chance of an item spawning. Chance is also influenced by the lucky and unlucky traits. Duplicate entries do exist, but have been removed for clarity.
