Milk can be eaten, providing the player with some positive effects, however these will become negative the longer it's left to perish.

Effective chance calculations are based off of default 'apocalypse' loot settings, with no luck modifier, and average zombie density. The higher the density of zombies in an area, the higher the effective chance of an item spawning. Chance is also influenced by the lucky and unlucky traits. Trivia
- The photo of the missing person on the milk carton is a reference to a method of putting pictures of missing children on milk cartons so when seen, one could call the authorities to notify. That method was used and started somewhere in December 1984 or January 1985 and was abandoned in 1996 for having little success and scaring the children seeing these photos every morning.
