I'm not trying to be an ass, but what's the difference between this and the Survival Guide? Could it not be folded into there? --Connall (talk) 19:56, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Step 1: Ask your self what you need.

Whether it be sheets, for making make-shift curtains in your house, food, or maybe an axe, you need to get this sorted and out of the way. Once you know what kind of items you would like, then proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Find the appropriate location.

If you are just starting off, you may want to break into the surrounding houses with the least amount of zombies to find food, a weapon etc. Only do this step if you know you are capable of successfully doing it. I recommend using this beautifully made online map, head on over to http:// pzmap.crash-override.net it check it out. Once you have found you house on the map (believe me, it is simple enough when you have looted the surrounding houses) find the area that you would like to go. If you would like tools, head to a warehouse, if you need food, head to a store and so on. Take into account: The distance between your chosen area and you, the type of chosen area and any zombie activity that you know of.

Step 3: Tool up, boy.

Bring the correct amount of supplies. If you are about to scavenge a massive area, try to carry the minimal amount of things, so you can carry more. Make sure to bring: -The correct amount of food. -The correct amount of water. -The correct amount of weapons. -Some kind of extra storage device (a plastic bag, a duffel bag, a hiking bag). -A way to sleep. Never say "Oh, well this house in on the way to my point of interest, might as well sleep there" because you don't know if there's a massive horde of zombies there or some other major inconvenience. Make sure you DON'T bring: -Any extra weight you don't need (this includes a whole bunch of things that 'might' come in handy).

Step 4: Go safe or go home.

Everything is going perfectly. The sun is shining bright, you've got enough supplies to get there any back and then suddenly, "OH NO!" clusters of zombies dot the path to your location. "Oh well, I'll just go around". Seemed like a great idea until he realized he didn't pack any extra supplies. "It's only an extra day, what could go so wrong?" he died of starvation or dehydration. If something happens that you didn't account for, go home. You will most likely (unless you over-packed) run out of supplies and end up a tasty zombie snack. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL %100 SAFE, GO HOME, RE-EVALUATE, REPACK AND RE TRAVEL!

Step 5: Scavenge!

Finally! This is the moment you've been waiting for! Hundreds of corpses litter the street with your boot-mark in the blood! Go and search every nook and cranny of that place! Make sure when scavenging to look all around the area. If you are in a building, go outside and check around the back when you are done. Make sure you've gotten absolutely everything that has value! Also, make sure to leave all things worthless to you at the area.

Step 6: Ask yourself if you found what you wanted.

Did you find that trusty axe? How about that weeks-worth of food? If you had a successful scavenge, congratulations! Although, odds are you may not have gotten everything you wanted. This is, after all, the zombie apocalypse and not everything is abundant. If you didn't get what you needed, then you are probably down on lots of food and a bit of weapons. If this is your predicament, you should just search nearby houses and nearby storage facilities. This is dangerous, as a house may have an alarm, you break the window of said house and suddenly you've dropped everything you brought and are already in your safe house crying about how you are so dead. Well, if this is you, then you should pack your things, move far away and set up a new safe-house. If your safe-house is over run, your scavenges fail, and your weapons break, you will at least have the closure that the people who are munching on your very brain are the people who did far worse than you.

Wasn't really aware of this page existence, most likely as it's not linked anywhere and it's not even categorized. What connal said years ago, do we need this page? Can't all the relevant info be moved elsewhere? —Faalagorn/ 20:34, 10 October 2023 (BST)
move it, there is not much here anyway. :) Ikip (talk) 20:38, 10 October 2023 (BST)
