The first few days are regular broadcasts covering the knox event including a live correspondent at the border of the exclusion zone. It covers the official story given to the media by the government and includes multiple statements given by General John McGrew, and the President of The United States. Over time the news team become more skeptical of the story given.

One broadcast sees the live correspondent Richard Gershwin panicked to the camera trying to explain that the military had began firing on people at the border of the exclusion zone before he is quickly stopped by military personnel shutting off the camera. When Richard returns later the same day he claims that he was bitten by "This huge wave of... They're dead, Diane". He explains there were thousands of them until he is interrupted by gunfire. Richards last known words are "The Knox Event has been compromised Diane! Compromised! GO BACK TO HELL YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

A new road team is sent out to cover the event, they report that there is max exodus from the area. Diane is distracted by a Triple-N report that the Knox Infection is now spreading without bites.

The last known broadcast of WBLN News is a segment of 'Talk the Night' speaking to Reverend Peter Watts.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Uncertainty and fear in Kentucky as the lockdown continues on this...
... the second day of the Knox Event exclusion.
WBLN's Richard Gershwin is being held by US Army Officials.
We believe this to be... against his will.
We're ascertaining the situation right now.
Meanwhile, evacuees are talking of a flu-like illness and temporary immobility...
... in those they left behind.
Reports are also coming in of panic and confusion inside the Zone.
Army Officials are thought to be setting up quarantine areas and...
... scientific test areas within the perimeter.
On the outside all that can be done, we're told...
... is to sit and wait.
We'll have the latest from Richard Gershwin and his team later today.

We're talking to our reporter Richard Gershwin on the scene in Kentucky.
Richard, you've attempted to enter the Exclusion Zone?
I did Diane. I didn't get far.
We found a driver from a town called West Point.
He told us he'd take is in to find the truth.
And to find his family.
We went cross-country in his pick-up but...
There are barriers everywhere. Lots of perimeter patrols...
We were picked up pretty much instantly.
I was in cells overnight. No closer to the truth.
Is there something we're not being told Richard?
If we hear it, it will be tomorrow.
General John McGrew has stated there will be a press conference.
Where answers will be given, and families will be reassured.
That won't be enough for my friend in the pick-up though.
He's still in the cells. My thanks to Triple N for getting me out so quick.
You watch yourself down there Richard!
Diane, I will!

Welcome to Talk the Night. With you until Dawn! I'm Dawn Stevenson.
I'm here with the campaigner and activist Iain Sweetman.
Now Iain, for those who don't know your...
My wife died during the Raleigh Outbreak.
All I wanted ever since was justice for her.
The Center for Disease Control was unfit for purpose.
Sure, they beat it. But only after so many needless...
... just so many deaths.
Iain, if you don't mind me asking...
... in the Knox Event do you see history repeating?
I hope not. I see activity, and I see action.
That was sorely lacking in Raleigh.
There were more journalists than specialists in the temporary hospitals.
I recall. Several of my colleagues contracted the infection.
It made for good copy from the quarantine camps.
So it added to the hysteria too.
I'm at peace with it all now. Since the court ruling.
But I spent so much of my time fighting to get Suzanne's voice heard.
And when I look at how efficient the response to the Event has been...
I realise that lessons were learned from the entire Raleigh episode.
Maybe it won't happen again.
We're all hoping and praying that's the case Iain.
Thank you for talking through the night.

Panic in Kentucky, as the Knox Exclusion enters its third day.
A huge area remains sectioned off today...
... with the small towns of Muldraugh and West Point...
... central to this developing situation.
Richard Gershwin is our correspondent.
Diane, it's a scene of panic and confusion here.
Roads are blocked, checkpoints have been set up.
Equipment waiting for overseas deployment is instead...
... being used to separate victims of an unknown disease...
... from the rest of America.
Everything below the curve of the Ohio river is a no-go zone, Diane.
What's the word on the people in there?
No official update today, still the reports of 'panic and confusion'.
What's more, and what's really got folk here concerned...
... is communication.
We've been told that Knox Telecommunications has had...
... phone lines down for maintenance but the picture is far from clear.
The situation would seem to be unfortunate in the extreme.
So we want answers Richard, when are we getting them?
Later today, Diane.
General John McGrew will be holding a press conference in the...
... temporary camp behind me this afternoon.
A lot of angry people here want to hear what he has to say.
I bet they do. Okay Richard, thanks for the report.
Meanwhile key Republicans have poured scorn on the President's handling...
... of the Kentucky outbreak.
More on that, and the political storm brewing in DC...
... after these messages.

We're going straight over to a statement made by...
... a General John McGrew on the Knox Exclusion Zone boundary.
I am making this statement at 11AM on the 14th July 1993.
There are many rumors circulating. Many falsehoods.
This is an appeal for calm.
I can confirm there has been an outbreak.
The ailment is, as yet, unidentified.
It is flu-like. It leads to panic. It leads to confusion.
There is NO evidence of fatalities within the Exclusion Zone.
We are using judged and judicious force to maintain the border.
Warning shots have been fired.
No civilians have been harmed.
We must ensure that this infection is not allowed to spread.
I am in hourly contact with the President on this matter.
The no-fly zone will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
At this time, we will take no questions.
General! General! Why can't we speak to them?
He said NO quest... <click>
Quite a forceful end to that statement Richard?
It was. There's still a lot unsaid down here.
No word on the Knox Telecommunications issue.
No explanation on why this... huge logistical operation is necessary.
There's a lot of angry, scared people here.
They can't get home. They can't speak to their families.
And the threat is still an unknown.
Keep digging Richard.
I will. Don't you worry.
Next up: the President's date with...
... the Center for Disease Control.
Up after this.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Good evening. The President has spoken out on the Knox Event.
Speaking after a consultation with the Center for Disease Control...
... he addressed journalists in the White House press room.
This is a distressing time.
The situation in Kentucky is unexpected and saddening.
My first thoughts are with the friends and families of those within the Zone.
People have been separated, folk have been evacuated...
I understand the difficulties facing us.
However, I have faith in the fine people of the Center for Disease Control...
... to get to the root of the panic and confusion within the Exclusion Zone.
I have faith in our Servicemen and Women to fulfill their duties...
... and for General John McGrew to command them with the foresight and dedication...
... he has shown throughout his exemplary career.
It is a distressing time America, but you are in safe hands.
Thank you.
This came after a statement from General John McGrew...
... on the border line of the Event itself.
There are many rumors circulating. Many falsehoods.
This is an appeal for calm.
I can confirm there has been an outbreak.
The ailment is, as yet, unidentified.
It is flu-like. It leads to panic. It leads to confusion.

I am in hourly contact with the President on this matter.

We'll have all the news as it develops.

Welcome to Talk the Night, with you till dawn! I'm Dawn Stevenson.
For obvious reasons our planned interview with astronomer Jake Snow...
... on the meteorite showers we've been seeing has been postponed.
With me in the chair instead: Lieutenant General Jim Deacon - retired.
Now, you have a great deal of knowledge in...
The area. Yes. Knox was my patch, long ago.
Now I want to get one thing straight.
I've been watching this station all day, and I've been detecting some...
... negativity.
Lieutenant General, people have been forced from their...
Their homes? Sure they have. That's not good.
But there is no agenda.
This is a public health crisis.
Those boys are doing what they're told in exactly the right way.
They created that event boundary in DAYS to protect me, and to protect you.
Do you even know what that involved?
But maybe if we had some more information, then...
You'll get your information!
They've got experts!
They've got people doing tests right now!
If you don't know yet, it's because they don't want to misinform.
They don't want panic.
But there is panic, there's...
This is America. The common man is being attended to.
Okay.
Clearly this has taken place in an area that's close to your own heart.
It's well known that in the sixties this area was used for chemical testing.
Are there any laboratories in the area, or...
I think I know what you're suggesting, and my answers are threefold.
First, that's classified.
Second, very clearly not.
Third, the Army is in the process of very effectively containing an outbreak of unknown origin.
They demand RESPECT, not suspect... er...
... suspicion.
Okay. Thank you very much for joining me and talking...
... through the night.
It's been my pleasure.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Good morning.
The Knox event IS contained: that's the word from Washington.
Overnight there has been an apology for a 'lack of clarity', but...
... civilian fatalities are NOT an ongoing concern.
That's what we've been told, but is it enough for the crowds massing in Washington. Phil?
No Diane. No it is not.
We've got some angry people here.
They're angry because they don't think they know the full story.
Security is high here today, Diane. Lots of uniforms, lots of nervous faces.
Are we expecting any further statements from the President?
We know he's locked in meetings with the Center for Disease Control...
... and the officials overseeing the Knox Event itself.
But if the folk behind me make their voices heard loud enough?
Who can say?
Okay well let's just hope they do that peacefully and calmly. Thank you Phil.
Later today we'll be meeting Professor Jake Wilson, a scientist working...
... in an official capacity with the military at the Event.
We're promised full exposure, whatever that means, so keep with us throughout the day.

A public demonstration in Washington turns ugly...
... while on the Knox Event border the information blackout sparks violence.
This is WBLN, with developing news. Over to Phil in Washington,
Diane, the crowds here are restless.
What started as a peaceful protest of signs and hygiene masks...
... has turned ugly as the crowd clashed with a line of police officers.
These pictures show the moment an officer was struck by...
... a brick hurled from way back in the crowd.
Many arrests have been made here, but it feels like the start of a long evening.
Thank you Phil. Now what's happening with you in Kentucky, Richard Gershwin?
Not far different Diane.
Now we've had a lot of low-flying aircraft taking off today...
... some from inside the Exclusion Zone.
Please excuse any noise.
That's clearly okay Phil. We heard... unsettling reports.
Food for displaced folk has been coming in, but it hasn't been enough.
People are sleeping rough, and the military are making it tough for them to get away.
Any form of population movement? Not happening.
That's caused friction, and that's caused fighting.
We've seen people taken away for their own safety here.
We heard there was fighting against members of the military?
No. No nothing like that. Not yet.
But this is Kentucky, people are scared...
... and people have guns. It's a powder keg situation, Diane.
Thank you Richard. Keep the reports coming.
Next up: Professor Jake Wilson, a Knox Event scientist speaks out...

I'm here with Professor Jake Wilson.
Professor Wilson is a scientist with the military...
... and you might have seen him and his colleagues in the media today.
Professor Wilson, you've been given a far easier ride in interviews today than you deserve.
Just what the hell is going on in there?
I'm not in charge, I'm just here to put fears to rest.
People are in a bad way, they are panicked and confused.
I know. I know because I heard you say the same thing to NNR this morning.
Transmission has slowed, but the situation remains volatile, Diane.
Is there anything, anything at all, you want to tell me that we don't already know?
Er, only that we have no reason to believe they won't recover.
I believe... the NATION believes... that you are withholding information.
They believe you are refusing to address the issue...
... because of the military sensitivity of both the issue AND the region involved.
Is that true?
I'm truly sorry but I'm a disease an*lysis scientist. I an*lyse and report not...
Then tell us some science!
Listen, we've got some of the best guys looking at samples.
People are confused in there. They are distressed.
Currently we have NO reason to believe they won't recover.
Should we be afraid?
Categorically: no.
Transmission has slowed.
The Knox Event is contained.
Thank you for your time Professor Jake Wilson.

This interview was recorded before the shocking violence that we have seen...
...break out tonight in Los Angeles and Washington.
Welcome to Talk the Night, with you till dawn! I'm Dawn Stevenson.
I'm here with the the Deputy Chief of the NYPD, Patrick O'Hara.
Firstly, thank you for being with us at such a busy time.
That's perfectly okay - truth be told it's the guys on the ground with their hands full.
We've seen footage of the demonstrations nationwide...
...some of our viewers might even have been part of them.
What do you say to them?
We know you're angry. We know you're frustrated.
So are we.
There is however a line we're seeing crossed.
It's my job, and the job of my men and women in the NYPD, to keep the peace.
And it's clear peace is not on some minds.
So you're saying: stay away?
I'm saying: act responsibly.
The Knox Event has us all wired up.
But listen to what we're being told.
You don't have to stockpile food.
If you are not in the direct vicinity of the Event line, you are not in danger.
We're hearing a lot of talk about curfews if public order continues to deteriorate.
Any truth in that?
We're looking at all eventualities.
In all likelihood in a few days this will have all blown over.
Thank you for your time Deputy Police Chief O'Hara...
... for joining me and talking...
... through the night.
This was a pre-recorded interview, that took place...
... before tonight's violent scenes.

The President has spoken out after public anger...
... turned into a night of violence.
We'll hear from Washington and LA as soon as we can, but first...
... this is direct from the White House.
I understand the frustration. I can hear you: loud and clear.
I understand the frustration because I'm like you.
I want to know when my fellow Americans...
...fellow Americans who are laid low with sickness...
... can be returned to their families.
To this end I will be talking to the General and the CDC today.
From which I will be able to provide more answers.
However.
The horrifying activities we have seen on our streets over the last 24 hours?
There is no excuse. No excuse whatsoever.
Arrests will be made. Every authority is on high alert.
If you are seeking to disrupt our way of life through fear and scaremongering...
...you will be sorely disappointed.
I will come back to you with more information...
...FULL information...
When I have it in my hand.
That was direct from the White House.
Now we turn to the clean-up operation on the streets of Washington and Los Angeles.
After a night of tension turned to... a night of terror.
Buildings set aflame. Fighting in the street.
Many arrests.
We'll have all the latest, coming up after this.

We're here with breaking news.
After 6pm EST tonight: all flights are off.
Every air journey, both internal and international, will be grounded.
This: at the request of the World Health Organisation...
... who in recent days have been demanding clarity over the Knox Event.
Airline companies have been universally compliant.
Speaking immediately after his press conference on last night's violence...
...The President expressed dissatisfaction at the WHO's unprecedented demands.
This move is as unwelcome...
...as it is economically unsound.
I will seek to redress this move at every opportunity.
After talks with the General I am satisfied that...
... the Knox Event is, to all intents of purpose, contained.
However.
Tests on those recovering from the Knox sickness are inconclusive.
We have labs set up inside the Zone now.
I assure the American people that every dollar I have at my disposal...
...will go toward their healing and rehabilitation.
However, I repeat: the Knox Event IS contained.
Procedures are underway to ensure our safety.
That will be all.
We'll be updating you throughout the day.

As of 6pm EST all mainland flights have been grounded.
Meanwhile tonight we're seeing military s*pport in our cities...
... as law enforcement officials seek to avoid a repercussion...
... of last night's senseless violence.
All this after the President sought to calm fears at home and abroad.
After talks with the General I am satisfied that...
... the Knox Event is, to all intents of purpose, contained.
However.
Tests on those recovering from the Knox sickness are inconclusive.
We have labs set up inside the Zone now.

However, I repeat: the Knox Event IS contained.
Procedures are underway to ensure our safety.
And what's happening on the ground in Kentucky, Richard Gershwin?
I think I'm seeing those procedures in action, Diane.
The Army are widening the exclusion zone.
We've been told this is to: 'remove any element of doubt'...
... and to give a 'safe and responsible response' to the Event.
A lot of people here don't want to move...
... but they're not the ones with Armored Personnel Carriers.
I'll check in when I have more to report Diane.
Thanks Richard. We'll be back right after this.

Welcome to Talk the Night, with you till dawn! I'm Dawn Stevenson.
I'm with Dr Jack Galbraithe, the former Chief Scientist of...
... The Center for Disease Control.
Now Dr Galbraithe, you left the CDC in... dramatic fashion.
Does that matter? After years of cuts and funding reductions...
... and with this nightmare scenario in Kentucky...
... you're bringing that up now?
People might think you have an axe to grind.
I was a scapegoat. The Raleigh outbreak was AGAIN...
... due to department after department of the CDC being shuttered.
Only livestock were affected.
And the Knox Event. Do you trust what we've heard?
Do you? Does anyone?
There clearly is, maybe was, a very communicable illness in there.
I can only assume the spread has slowed, which is why they are confident. But...
We're very clearly being left in the dark.
We could buy the silence for a few days. But now?
They don't want to risk more riots.
But those people are NOT going to get better.
Do you have evidence to substantiate this?
Do you have evidence to deny it?
This situation will blow up in the President's face.
America is not ready.
Our Disease Control systems have been dismantled...
... in exchange for a few more bucks in the bank.
Military force cannot contain desperate people...
... in a desperate situation.
Sobering thoughts.
Thank you Dr. Galbraithe.

This is Phil Hartup, today coming to you direct from the White House.
The President has just addressed the nation, and truths have been told.
Yet still: a curfew. Announced for tonight in many major cities.
It is time to face facts. It is time to settle down.
We only ask for your responsible actions as an American citizen.
I, personally, take responsibility for the perceived lack of communication.
And for the rumor-mongering that has grown around the so-called 'Knox Event'.
At this time we have no reason to believe residents of Kentucky will not recover.
However, as the picture clears, and more information is made available...
... its likelihood is starting to recede.
We have been hesitant to discuss specifics, yes, but with reason.
The Knox Event IS contained, but its panic and confusion are not.
We wanted to establish facts, but public alarm has not provided enough time.
From 6pm tonight there will be curfews in some of our biggest cities.
This is for your protection. Please do not leave your house.
Please have faith in both our military and our emergency services.
I ask our journalistic community to report responsibly.
We are examining all potentialities.
I will update you whenever we have new information.

Breaking news. We have images of some of the victims of the Knox Event.
They are shocking. If you have children in the room just...
... just don't let them see.
Yesterday The President stated that recovery was possible, yet increasingly unlikely.
Today we see this image: a man without an arm.
A man covered in blood.
A man covered in what an*lysts claim are bite marks.
There has been no official statement.
Let's go to Richard Gershwin on the Event Boundary.
There's shock here. There are tears.
There is anger.
Hope has been fading fast for days.
The faces of the soldiers on the barricades suggested this all along.
But still the people here ask: 'why?'.
Why say panic and confusion, when in reality there's so much more?
This revelation isn't going to help in stemming the riots Richard.
No Diane. It is not.
People here... they're...

WBLN! Your news, your station.
After last night's outage it's been a period of revelation.
Still: no word from The White House or General John McGrew...
... as survivors from INSIDE the Exclusion Zone emerge.
There have been joyful reunions, tempered by shock and dismay.
Richard Gershwin, just what in God's name is going on?
The picture that's being painted for us isn't pretty, Diane.
These people have been released from a military camp inside the Zone.
They were held against their will...
... in some kind of quarantine. An isolation of some sort.
And the Knox Event infection itself?
What are they saying?
Bad things.
The infection rate in the towns of Muldraugh and West Point is total.
Sufferers act like... animals.
They bite, they maul...
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's just...
Take a breath Richard. This is tough.
Is the Knox Event still contained?
The Knox Event is contained. Information is not.
People are angry here.
Angry as all hell, Diane.
Thank you Richard, we'll be back with you after this.

This is Richard Gerswhin reporting directly from the Exclusion Zone boundary.
If you're just joining us...
... survivors have emerged from inside the Exclusion Zone.
They have been let through, we don't know why, by the Army.
They have been held in a local military base in...
... some sort of quarantine.
They are scared, hungry and come with shocking revelations.
First came the fever, then came violence and a hunger for blood.
This community was held, and tested upon.
Not all are with us now.
Everyone inside the Zone is now infected, it is claimed.
Everyone has succumbed.
Yet the spread of the disease comes only through...
... attacks from infected individuals.
The initial mass contagion is now over.
There is now a renewed anger all along the camps on the boundary.
The military have pulled back into their checkpoints.
We are expecting a statement at any time now.
America sits on a knife edge.
The one question on everyone's lips:
"Why weren't we told?"
The curfew begins at 6pm EST. Please stay in your houses.
Please tune in to local programming for curfew information.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
This is Richard Gershwin, behind me General John McGrew is...
Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
Oh, we're starting.
Thank you for attending tonight. I only ask for orderly and responsible journalism.
I have requested that this broadcast play on all media channels embedded with my troops.
First and foremost: we are safe.
America is safe.
Today we can confirm that, yes, the nature of the Knox Event is degenerative.
It causes panic and confusion among sufferers
Some of whom will then perform acts that are... un-American.
The initial period of contagion is over.
There is absolutely NO need for further panic.
Panic... engendered by irresponsible and unofficial reporting.
Sufferers are NOT deceased.
We ARE establishing the likelihood of discovering a cure.
At this stage the infection is passed only through DIRECT fluid contact.
This means bites. This means scratches.
My thoughts are with those poor souls behind the Event line.
But this is contained.
It has always been contained.
We are safe.
America is safe.
Thank you.
General! General!
I said no questions Richard! When we have news you'll hear it.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Welcome to Talk the Night, with you till dawn! I'm Dawn Stevenson.
After shocking recent events we've been asking questions.
"How?", "Why?"
With me tonight is Professor Peter Endsleigh...
...who believes he has the answers.
I've been warning people for years.
It's in the meat.
We've been feeding our cows on their own kind.
Misfolded prions. Brain matter fed back into the food chain.
These prions have been building up in countless generations of cattle.
This is quite clearly a neurological disorder.
You think this is linked to the Mad Cow crisis?
This is the Mad Cow crisis. Or at least the next step.
We've all been ingesting it for years.
Every trip to Spiffos. Every pot roast.
It's lain dormant, and now the Knox Event has set it free.
Do you have evidence for this?
I've got this whole book!
Factory farming! That's what's caused this!
An endless ambivalence to what our nation eats!
It's certainly a theory...
You have a better one?
I've heard there are people who can survive it.
They're vegan. I'd put every dollar in my wallet on that.
Professor Endsleigh thank you for...
Have we mentioned my book?
Is that necessary? Okay...
Professor Endsleigh, author of Apocalypse Cow...
... Thank you for talking through the night.

If you're still with us after those messages...
... we just lost contact with our correspondent Richard Gershwin on the Event boundary.
*static*
Diane can you hear me? Are you seeing this?
We're getting pictures now Richard.
What's happening?
Some images might be shocking Diane. People are dead here.
There was a disturbance. A soldier opened fire.
There are multiple casualties and...
... tear gas! Agh!
MOVE BACK PEOPLE. YOU ARE SAFE.
THE INFECTION IS CONTAINED.
Are you seeing this? Are you seeing this?
I WANT THAT CAMERA SHUT OFF! NOW!
Run! Don't...
THERE IS NO NEED FOR PANIC!
THE KNOX EVENT IS CONTAINED
IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONTAINED
*static*
Richard? Richard!
Shocking events on the Event boundary.
We'll keep you updated throughout the day...
... and on the repercussions that will be felt throughout the nation.
Stay safe everyone.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
We've lost touch with our News Team on the ground...
... in the chaos of the Exclusion Zone boundary.
There are reported deaths at the hands of the military there.
Though that is yet to be substantiated.
What we can confirm are: tear gas and gunshots.
We have this statement from the President...
... recorded BEFORE this latest incident.
Fellow Americans.
We must have peace.
Please: tonight, stay in your homes.
Mistakes have been made, I know.
But at this point the Knox Event is contained.
The world is watching us.
We don't have to panic.
The curfew is there for a reason, and I would ask you to stick by it.
We intend to make deliberate action within the Exclusion Zone very soon.
This statement was delivered mere minutes before...
... the following scene unfolded on the Event Line.
I WANT THAT CAMERA SHUT OFF! NOW!
Run! Don't...
THERE IS NO NEED FOR PANIC!
THE KNOX EVENT IS CONTAINED.
IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONTAINED.
Speaking as myself, not as WBLN, I have drawn my own conclusions.

We don't have pictures but...
Oh we do?
Folks we're going straight over to Richard Gerswin.
I've... I've been attacked. Bitten.
This huge wave of...
They're dead, Diane.
There's no other way to say it.
We were being held by the army for filming the...
... the guns. They were killing people.
Richard, slow down.
The people. The dead people from the inside.
They heard the fighting.
There were thousands of them.
They're stone cold. One of them...
They're dead. They're actually dead.
Are there people, uninfected people, who have died?
It's a war zone.
There's...
<gunfire>
Oh God! There's more!
The Knox Event has been compromised Diane!
Compromised!
GO BACK TO HELL YOU SON OF A BITCH!

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Welcome to Talk the Night. I'm Dawn Stevenson.
It's been a tragic and worrying day today.
Man fighting man. A huge incursion of the infected.
Many losses.
We felt the need to reflect, amidst the chaos
Pastor Samuels, thank you for coming in at such short notice.
It's all my pleasure.
What are we seeing today?
Quite simply. The end is at hand.
America has sinned.
Every day I look to our streets and I see...
... depravity and wickedness.
A nation tainted by perverts and sinners.
So you think this an act of God?
This is the VOICE of God.
Okay... what hope can you give our viewers?
Our viewers of faith?
None.
There is only Hell.
There is Hell here.
There is Hell below.
I'm sorry, but I can't let you... there must be some hope.
We got you on to...
Your media elite. You are at fault too.
I'm sorry?
You are the people who led us to the Devil's door are you not?
I'm ending this interview right now.
God save us all.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
We have lost contact with our Event Boundary news team...
... but we have another crew on the road.
What are you guys hearing?
We've been stopped at a checkpoint, but it's gridlock in any case.
Thousands of people, in cars or on foot.
All streaming past us.
All scared, hungry, crying or injured - some severely.
The Army are pulling back alongside them.
A truce after the mayhem that attracted thousands of infected over...
... the Event boundary, and directly into harm's way.
Is there any evidence of the infection spreading?
No Diane, there is not.
I hate to say it, but many have been left behind.
I think we can expect developments in that area.
Are you saying that people expect more to get infected?
There were thousands of infected, and they left their mark.
Then why are the military pulling back?
We think to form a new perimeter.
And people are letting them? After what transpired yesterday?
Being close to men with guns seems a good idea.
The road feels safer.
Keep on trying to push up to the boundary Mike.
Yes ma'am.
Good luck.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
We're going straight to our news team...
... who are on the road south of Louisville.
What you're seeing is an exodus.
But within this exodus there is a plague.
Scared people, injured people... all heading North.
The scenes are the same on each side of the collapsed Event boundary.
People who sustained infected attacks in yesterday's chaotic scenes.
This was a scene earlier today in which a mob... descended...
... on a young man who showed symptoms of the Knox Infection.
Everyone just wants to get North of the Ohio River...
... but rumors swirl that the military intend to shut off the bridge.
Have you heard about that in the studio, Diane?
Diane?
I'm sorry Mike but... Triple-N are reporting that...
That the Knox Infection is now spreading without bites.
It's what?
Folks, you've never seen this before but...
... I'm telling you to tune into Triple-N right now.
That can't be true.
I think it is Mike.
It's not confirmed, but we're seeing pictures that...
Jesus.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Breaking News.
The Knox Event infection is sweeping through Louisville.
WBLN has obtained the following pictures.
The illness has struck potentially thousands of people down.
The infection is thought to be the same as that within the Event zone.
Instances of... reanimation are not yet active within the city limits.
However scenes on the road from the Event Zone suggest it inevitable.
There is no word from the President or the Military beyond existing...
... advice to stay inside, to avoid travel and obey curfew measures.
We here at WBLN will stay on the air for as long as we can to keep you informed.
We ask for patience, however, during these difficult times.
Some of us are leaving to be with our families.
A skeleton crew have agreed to stay at the station until...
... until whatever happens in the coming days happens.
God Bless America.

WBLN! Your news, your station.
Welcome to Talk the Night. I'm Dawn Stevenson.
I'd like to apologise for last night's guest.
Tonight we hope to avoid distress.
Sitting with me is the Right Reverend Peter Watts.
The Bishop of Louisville.
How do you react to the Knox Event as a man of faith?
I find it testing.
I find it hard to believe that a just God, my God, could allow...
... such a thing.
But I also see God in those helping each other.
I see God in those helping us.
How can he let this happen?
$15.99, plus postage and packing!
A better place, in his presence.
I believe that those... changed.
Are a step closer. Maybe already at his side.
What else is there?
Have you doubted? Have you doubted at all?
I am human, and to doubt is human.
Thomas doubted, but he was forgiven.
We will all be forgiven.
Thank you.

Trivia

  • Richard does also appear on the tape Home VHS: Shows, talking about the Raleigh Outbreak, emergency services not coping, hospitals being on lockdown, and the military not acting up.
  • The morning after turning on the TV in WBLM Channel on July 15, After the last transmission from Richard, another reporter that will now be transmitted is Mike during only until the afternoon of the 15th. After that, contact with him is lost, or not transmitted anymore on WLBM. Richard and Mike still don't have zombified characters that we can find them, as all the unlocked outfits indicate, and neither does pastor Samuels yet.
