Car Door
A car door is an item as part of a vehicle, and can be found in three different types, front, rear and double rear. It is used to protect the occupants of the vehicle from zombie attacks.
Usage
Installing
A door is fitted onto the side of a vehicle with a wrench, and requires Mechanics level 4 to replace without the possibility of damage.
Repairing
A door can only be repaired once removed from the vehicle. Once removed, it can be repaired using Metal Sheets and a Propane Torch. This requires level 3 in the Metalworking skill and level 2 in the Mechanics skill. It may be a better option to find an entirely different door to replace a damaged one if the door has been severely damaged.
Zombie defense
Protects the players inside the vehicle against attacks from zombies, so long as the door is closed and a window is also fitted and closed. Sometimes the door can be left open when driving off quickly. This can be incredibly dangerous, as vehicles do not have animations showing that the doors are still open. To make sure the door closes, avoid driving until you hear the door close.
Locking
Having a door fitted in a multiplayer game allows it to be locked using the car key, preventing other players from entering the vehicle and taking parts or even hot-wiring it. However, players can still smash the window and gain access, so it is best to park vehicles inside a secure safehouse if possible.
