PlushSpiffo.pngThis article is about NPC in general. For survivor NPCs, see Survivor.

Non-playable characters (NPCs) are defined as any character in the game not under the control of the player. NPCs would spawn naturally throughout Knox County carrying out various tasks, ranging from engaging in combat with zombies, scavenging for objects and materials, or even interacting with the player.

Survivors

Main article: Survivor

NPCs would spawn naturally throughout Knox County carrying out various tasks, ranging from engaging in combat with zombies, scavenging for objects and materials, or even interacting with the player.

Following early game development, NPCs were removed from the game.[1] In an upcoming update, NPCs will be reintroduced with revamped mechanics.[2]

Animals

Main article: Animal

As of Build 41 animals don't physically roam the countryside and a few can only be found through foraging, fishing, trapping or randomly as a loot, however, this is due to be changed in Build 42

Zombies

Main article: Zombie

Zombies are technically NPCs too, although they have their own patterns that will likely be separate from the survivor and animal AI.
