Tutorial
Should we throw together a simple tutorial? just a single page with all "need to know" information such as movement, interaction and so forth? Or should we wait on that since that page would need ALLOT of maintenance since the game is changing pretty fast?
Why is there no page on General John McGrew? I feel like he's an essential character.
:Yeah I think this is probably the way to do it, as long as it doesn't end up being a walk through. Mmmicrophone - <small>PZwiki administrator</small> 09:25, 2 June 2011 (BST)

FAQ?
Instructions/advice how to play the game in general information pages?
I'm not sure if we need a tutorial per se but a FAQ covering things like pausing the game, whether or not you can save your game, how to start a new game, tips for play, etc. might be a decent idea.
i.e. the following change: https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=First_Aid&diff=0&oldid=63267
: I like this idea. I think a page is still required for the tutorial, maybe just have it describe what it teaches you etc rather than a step by step guide? Mmmicrophone - <small>PZwiki administrator</small> 21:24, 1 June 2011 (BST)
I don't think it's appropriate to have recommendations how to act ("do this, then do that"). It's a matter of opinion whether an action makes sense or not based upon game mechanics, which should be explained. I would rather rework this and remove the workflow concept completely and just explain different wound types similar to the Items sections.

::I think it would be nice to have an F.A.Q. page. If there are questions anyone needs answered, they could go on the FAQ discussion page and answers can be added later by knowledgeable players. Most games of this caliber have a steep learning curve when it comes to the game mechanics; being a survival game and all much detail has gone into certain behaviors (effects light, sound, etc have on gameplay is very hidden but important). With proper organization, an FAQ could be a valuable page to this wiki, I think. -- Rachealica 10:43, 18 May 2012 (CST6CDT)

Just before they announced the removal of all previous versions of the game (which is like being kicked in the face for liking b40 and its different aesthetic.)
Upon a play through on b40 I noticed it has artificially generated lag, its as if the Dev's are intentionally trying to boot people off of b40.

::::I think it might be best to call the page Frequently Asked Questions with a redirect from F.A.Q/FAQ. -- Rachealica 13:04, 21 May 2012 (CST6CDT)
Ill have a further look into the weird oscillating type lag that occurs with combat animations and walking in previous versions of b40.
F the devs for not appreciating people who just want the original game.

Maybe a bit of a trivial topic. Should these pages all be on 1 generic containers page? Each of the current pages could have their own section. Just right now there doesn't seem to be a great deal of info for each page and I doubt there ever will be..

So some people have added a few spoilers to the tutorial and Kate pages. Do we want to avoid having spoilers on here or should we just go for it? At the moment there is only really 1 or 2 things that can be spoiled story wise but I'm sure there will eventually be more..
Adding Trauma Bag
: I think this depends on whether we are going to add a walkthrough for stories. In that case I would suggest the use of spoilers, but to warn for them explicitly on the top of the page Jhw 23:35, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Wikimark up help section
I recently came across a Trauma Bag that's not listed here. I didn't see it in the variation of the Duffel Bag either but it has different stats as well. I found it in the back on an ambulance.

So I started adding a list of commonly used wikimark up to the help section here. It's a bit lacking right now so feel free to suggest any other bits you think should be added. I'd personally like to try to keep the help page simple so it doesn't scare newcomers off. Anything more complex like tables and whatnot could probably be linked to via the main mediawiki page.. == Crafting tables ==
bad link
I feel that these really should be as simple as possible so that anyone can jump in and change things if needed. I'm not 100% convinced that different templates is really the way to go with this, although can see the benefit in only having to change something once and have it update on all of the pages. templates also seem to scare people off at times.. (they also seem to have broken during the server move and I have no idea how to fix them!).
Hi, I noticed by chance that the Help:Contents/no page was probably not in the right place, I think the Help:Editing for beginners section would be more suitable.
I don't really know how to modify this so I'll let you see it on your side. Tatoz_53 (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2023 (BST)

I've started up another revision of the crafting tables format which you can see starting to take shape on the crafting page. It just uses basic wikimarkup tables and all of the info will go straight into the page (for now at least). I personally think this looks a bit nicer.
Permission to use your "icons"
Sure it might be a bit of a pain to keep them up to date when things change, but at least anyone can edit it right away without having to navigate a host of different templates.
I wanted to know if they give me permission to use their icons and others from the main page in the English version and use them in the Spanish version? Thanks in advance User:Texaliuz

The news section
The Step 4: Level up section in the Carpentry wiki page makes no reference to using VHS tapes or Life and Living TV to gain experience for the Carpentry skill, which may be slightly misleading.

So the news section on the front page seems a little redundant. Does anyone think it's worth keeping? Could we replace it with something else? Any suggestions?

::Please barge in. I was hoping to get some ideas or opinions. I did go ahead and take away createpage from anonymous users. Adding email confirm could be a headache for users (and me) once the next update comes out and this place gets busy. I will consider restricting anonymous edits in the future. The banned IP list on that mediawiki page seems like a good deal - 3 of the 4 ips I banned in the last 24 hrs were on the list - but there may be some server performance issues to consider. Hi,
I noticed the page http://pzwiki.net/wiki/Hypercondriac and was tempted to correct it to hypochondriac , or possibly more correctly hypochondria but I actually can find no spelling conventions for the wiki.

I recently came across a Trauma Bag that's not listed here. I didn't see it in the variation of the Duffel Bag either but it has different stats as well. I found it in the back on an ambulance.

Trauma Bag.png
 • Encumbrance: 1.0
 • Capacity: 23
 • Encumbrance Reduction: 65

Items it came with:

 • Surgical Gloves
 • Suture Needle Holder
 • Tweezers

Late reply, but yeah, these are relatively new and not yet on the wiki, these (and some other items) are listed in PZwiki:Item list, but if anyone wants, they are free to add them early! —Faalagorn/ 22:00, 1 July 2023 (BST)

bad link

Hi, I noticed by chance that the Help:Contents/no page was probably not in the right place, I think the Help:Editing for beginners section would be more suitable. I don't really know how to modify this so I'll let you see it on your side. Tatoz_53 (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2023 (BST)

Good catch, thanks! I just moved the page :) —Faalagorn/ 21:28, 7 June 2023 (BST)

Permission to use your "icons"

I wanted to know if they give me permission to use their icons and others from the main page in the English version and use them in the Spanish version? Thanks in advance User:Texaliuz

Hey! Not sure which icons you mean, but all icons uploaded to the wiki are free to use elsewhere on any of its pages! —Faalagorn/ 21:56, 1 July 2023 (BST)

Correct Step 4 of the Carpentry Wiki Page

The Step 4: Level up section in the Carpentry wiki page makes no reference to using VHS tapes or Life and Living TV to gain experience for the Carpentry skill, which may be slightly misleading.

Thanks, CCTV4569 (talk) 20:02, 1 July 2023 (BST)

I added it now, thanks! It was probably like that since before the addition of those :). If you spot any such inconsistencies though, feel free to straight fix it! —Faalagorn/ 21:54, 1 July 2023 (BST)

Carrot seeds page lists information for Cabbage seeds

From GwTWoD

The page for carrot seeds has multiple instances where it uses cabbage seeds instead of carrot seeds. It also has a few links to "cabbage seeds" that just send you to the same page.

Thanks for noticing thanks! The IDs were probably copy pasted, so I changed that tot the right ones. :) —Faalagorn/ 08:05, 9 September 2023 (BST)
