The 2.9 map has multiple wells. One well which was very close to the city was removed during balancing, shortly after the 2.9 map was released. A second well can be found on a farm Northwest of the city. This well is found by following "Old Salt River Road." [[File:0_2_9Well_location.png|thumb| Roads, in Red, leading to a well location. The player can reach the well from the gas station in central Muldraugh. This gas station is at the intersection of the Dixie Highway (also called "The Highway") and "Old Mill Road" (Which connects to the frontage road parallel to the Highway).
As of build 41, wells can only be found only outside of the cities. There are several known wells:
*Leave Muldraugh on Old Mill Road. This road heads "West" in the real world (In the game "West" is towards the upper left corner of the screen.)
*The first is located at a farm to the northwest of Muldraugh.
*Take the 1st left onto Carpenter Test Road. This is a very short walk, it should take less than 30 seconds for an average player to walk. Carpenter Test Road has a double yellow center-line, and no sidewalks.
*The second is located at the farm directly south of the first well.
*Take the 1st right onto Old Salt River Road. This is a similarly short walk. The "T-junction" intersection is an uncontrolled intersection and Old Salt River Road has no markings as of RC2.9 Build 0008B.
*The third is located at the cabin in the western woods, north of Logging Co.
*Continue on Old Salt River Road for a very long time. As you travel there are three landmarks you will pass. First, you will pass a clear-cut strip which curves around Muldraugh's West and North. Second, the road will turn to the right. Third, the road will turn to the left.

*Turn left onto the driveway. You have arrived.

A player near a well.

A well is a man-made structure tunneling down an aquifer for the purpose of extracting water.

As of build 41, wells can only be found only outside of the cities. There are several known wells:

Uses

Unless changed in the sandbox the city's water supply will shut down after 0-30 in-game days, and the water appliances found throughout Knox Country will be limited to whatever remains inside their reservoirs. From that point forward survivors must rely on either wells, rain, natural bodies of water, or stockpiled and looted beverages. As of Build 41, the well provides an unlimited amount of water without drying up or freezing, offering a limitless supply of water for survivors who choose to base nearby.

Plumbing

The introduction of the plumbing mechanic offers a reliable source of water rivaling the utility of wells, depending on a survivor's individual play style.

Plumbing is currently unable to connect to wells, however a full rain barrel easily provides 400 units of water that can easily supply a survivor until the next rainfall. Additionally, the survivor can connect up to 8 rain barrels to a bathtub the floor below for the use of as a reservoir. During the warmer months it can be difficult to imagine needing the unlimited water a well provides, however the lack of rain in the winter can make the well an excellent source of water during the colder months.
