Dedicated server page changes

Hi

Thanks for contributing to the wiki! Regarding your changes on the Dedicated server page -- there's one aspect that may cause problems. Using $ and # to indicate user status, as with PS1, breaks the ability for users to copy/paste commands straight from the wiki, which a lot of people will do. A lot of nontechnical people will use the instructions there without being used to or comfortable with Linux or command line usage, so it needs writing with that in mind. Can you change the page with that in mind, or are you okay if I do so? Thanks, Kirrus (talk) 14:54, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Heya :) I'm aware what $ and # indicate on the CLI -- I'm a linux sysadmin! Definitely think we need to make it easy for people to copy commands -- how about adding 'sudo' to those that need it? If they run it as root, it'll not do much but log the command they run by default. Could add some more example images of what should happen? Kirrus (talk) 16:11, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
