Graves can be dug on 2 empty dirt tiles requiring a shovel. It is not possible to build on a grave. In order to build on the tiles on which the grave has been placed, the grave needs to be destroyed with a sledgehammer first.
Bodies of both zombies and former survivors can be placed in a grave using the bury corpse option. The Fill grave option will close the grave. However, it will be closed automatically when the grave has reached its maximum capacity of five bodies.
