This page was created to help players make the most of the current game state. This page is not exclusive to bug workarounds, and its scope is meant to include tips to make the game run and play better. This guide was created with v. 2.9.9.17 and the Windows 7 Operating System in mind
Tabbing out
When players tab out, they may notice a type of crash in the game, whereby they can no longer select the Project Zomboid game window. Selecting the accompanying Command Prompt window will not select the first window, and double-clicking either window may launch a new game window. Doing this will still debar access from the original game window. The game can only be closed at this point, although it will exhibit no signs of a crash. Once relaunched, the game's save progress may or may not have reverted to a previous state.
The way to prevent this happening is to only tab out when the game is paused using the time options in the top-right corner of the HUD. Pressing Esc then tabbing out whilst on the "menu" will trigger the above glitch.
