After spending a few hours with shotguns today, I have no idea why anyone would want to ruin their awesome regular shotgun by sawing it off. As a main weapon, the sawn off doesn't hit 5x zombies as often, and occasionally doesn't kill the ones it does hit. The regular shotgun consistently hits 5x zombies and kills them every time.
