Windows allow the player and NPCs to see, shoot and enter into specific buildings. Sheet ropes allow the player to descend out a window to ground level. This feature was shown in a video uploaded by Chris Simpson. If the player has a strength level of 3, they may climb the sheet rope.
A window may be barricaded, each barricade giving it an additional 10 health, with a maximum of 40.5 (40 barricades+ 0.5 base). Without barricades, a window has 0.5 health, which a single ghoul can destroy in a game hour.
Curtains can be made out of sheets and other cloth items and are used to cover windows. When covered, the window's line of sight is blocked from inside and outside. The curtains can only be opened and closed from the inside. Some windows have curtains on them.
