new multi building template

I created this template, Template:Navbox b for buildings that have the same name and are in multiple locations.

What do you all think? What kind of improvements would you suggest? Should we use it? Please be bold in changing it.

I really like the short name for the navbox, easier to type. Ikip (talk) 20:49, 14 September 2023 (BST)

I wouldn't call it a navbox. A navbox is more in the style of Template:Navbox locations, as in its at the bottom of a page that directs user to other pages. I'd rather call it building multi location if we were to use it. Sure it's more to type, but we need to make sure everyone knows what it is, especially considering new editors.
personally, I'd rather copy paste a table, which is more modifiable in case we need it to be different. I also can't seem to get it to work for more than one location, but I'm probably typing something wrong. -ThinkDock1721.
Thanks good suggestions.
Regarding it not working
did you use the 2 in the next line? Ikip (talk) 22:58, 14 September 2023 (BST)
I think I didn't space it right. I'll give it another try in a minute.
Yeah, it should be called somewhere else, as it's not Navbox. We didn't finish sorting and renaming all of the templates, so I guess me (or Vaileasys) will come with somehting better. As far as short name, an alias could be made, though I like the longer ones, as they are more descriptive and less change of collisions in names) —Faalagorn/ 09:33, 16 September 2023 (BST)
Thanks. Ikip (talk) 14:16, 16 September 2023 (BST)

Renamed. template:building multi location I have started to use this on the site. Ikip (talk) 15:37, 16 September 2023 (BST)

Crystal Pie Place

Bakery (West Point) where does the name come from other than the project zomboid map? Is it possible that this is a made up and not official name for this restaurant? Ikip (talk) 17:00, 13 October 2023 (BST)

All the logos/signs are finished

All of the logos/signs are finished, I have put all of them together and uploaded them. What is interesting is there are a few missing, I dont why, such as:

  1. Dogs A-Flamin' - not in Project.Zomboid.v46.60
  2. Fire department - Rosewood Fire Department

Ikip (talk) 20:06, 13 October 2023 (BST)

These signs might be either available in another file, or as a loose one. Did you use TileZed to extract them? We should be able to nail them down I believe. —Faalagorn/ 22:32, 14 October 2023 (BST)
yes, i used tilezed. i have a photo on your talk page. Ikip (talk) 18:49, 15 October 2023 (BST)
After some reasearch:

Just saw your message, THANK YOU, last one i dont have, Dogs A-Flamin'Tiles2x119 how do i go to 2x119? Ikip (talk) 22:29, 15 October 2023 (BST)
I definetly cannot find the Dogs A-Flamin' can you do a screenshot? Ikip (talk) 22:32, 15 October 2023 (BST)
Sure, it's one of the signs_one-off, but it's similar to Hit Vids!: File:Screenshot_2023-10-16-012504.png. —Faalagorn/ 00:27, 16 October 2023 (BST)
I cant seem to see it. at all. strange. File:Signs one off game files.png and File:Signs one off game files 2.png any advice? maybe the number is wrong? Ikip (talk) 02:52, 16 October 2023 (BST)
I spent 2 hours of more looking for the file. I am using project zomboid v46.60. maybe it is a new store? I am lost. Can you upload those 4 pieces? That is the last business. Ikip (talk) 05:10, 16 October 2023 (BST)
SEE - Dogs A-Flamin' Ikip (talk) 06:37, 16 October 2023 (BST)
Tiles do change between versions, so that might be a reason, though I doubt it was a new tile. I'll stitch and upload it tomorrow probably then! —Faalagorn/ 22:44, 16 October 2023 (BST)
Took me a while, but I sent you the extracted Dogs A-Flamin' tiles via Discord's DM. —Faalagorn/ 20:18, 28 October 2023 (BST)

Thank you! I will check it out. I just finished making all the signs straight. all of them. 21:23, 28 October 2023 (BST)

challenge maps - cannot see the levels, stories and roofs

I am using google chrome. I looked at the challenge maps. Interesting 2 have spiffo's. one has a fossoil and knox bank. The problem I had is in the challenge maps, when I select a level, nothing happens, the roof of these buildings remain invisible and I cannot therefore find the name of the business if there is a sign above the door. Everyone else having the same problems? Ikip (talk) 17:57, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

Louisville page

RE: Needs the most work by far. Add a table with all businesses, elaborate on current information in each article. See other towns for examples.

I think a table is not necessary since there is template navbox with all the businesses. If a table is added, this page will always be behind and never 100% accurate. The way the page is set up now, with the biggest sites in louisville, is enough.

That said, if someone wants to try and add all of the businesses for louisville, go ahead. Ikip (talk) 19:50, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

There are tables for all the other towns though, and they have navbox businesses. Plus not every user is going to look at that massive navbox to find one business. It's a lot easier to read when it's in a table in the town article. ThinkDock1721 (talk)
sure. 👍 I am indifferent. If someone wants to create the table, which will be hard to keep updated, as you describe a masocist, welcome. 🙏 Ikip (talk) 15:16, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Map of Muldraugh in early stages

Check out this from 2013/2014

Ikip (talk) 20:53, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

This map is very interesting, and not used on any page right now:

Ikip (talk) 18:03, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

The second map is used in Knox County, as that's where it's from. The first seems to be a user-created map of Muldraugh, which is still somewhat-accurate, yet outdated. —Faalagorn/ 21:24, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Actually, I see that it was you who added it therem thanks! There are various other images I have to look at, as per PZwiki:Tasks though, thanks! —Faalagorn/ 00:32, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

How you can help section works

Because of this section, all of the locations are now being added to every location in Louisville. (thanks calvy for all your work on this!)

I pushed with the "leader" to have this section at the top of the page. And it worked wonderfully.

It is important to encourage people to contribute! Thank you all for your contributions. Ikip (talk) 20:23, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Message to Calvy:

Can you do me a favor, can you keep the empty sections from here on out, it makes it easier for other people (me especially) to add new items. thanks in advance. Ikip (talk) 22:26, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

DELETION POLICY

RE: https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Louisville_hole_in_fence&action=history

I do not have the time, resources nor health to follow the recriminations, blatant lies, accusations, hurt feelings, misunderstandings, private messaging, and name calling on discord.

On Wikipedia there is AFD - Articles for discussion ON wikipedia. I will not boldy create this, because it will be probably be deleted by 3 of the administrators.

This will come up again, and I am sure has come up in the past. What is the policy on this? Let's discuss it here, not on discord. I simply do not have the time, resources nor health, like the bureaucrat and indie employee to monitor every edit and every word spoken on discord.

Again, a policy can be created for deletion of articles. I can spearhead this initiative. Ikip (talk) 11:06, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Why are you making empty articles to begin with? Of course they're going to be marked for deletion. It's borderline spam.

If you have a problem with anyone on discord, contact a moderator or the Spiffo bot. There's no need to continuously bring them back up here on the wiki, especially as they were resolved. We can also go without the aggression towards other users and our admins.
Note that discord will continue to be used for most discussion and collaboration, as it is the best place for back-and-forth discussions, quick decisions, and input from readers (not just editors). I understand that not everyone has the time to keep up with all that's happening on the wiki and discord, however things will move quickly, as we're a small wiki for a big game, so we can't sit around waiting before making any decisions. I've personally had long breaks over the years and have come back to see that everything has changed, which has almost always been a good thing. You can keep up-to-date by reading the monthly review on the wiki news page.
As for the deletion policy, I don't believe this is needed, 1) because of the wiki size, and 2) a deletion policy of sorts is already on the deletion template. The process is simple: if you believe something should be deleted, add a deletion notice with the reason. Then, after some time (usually at least a week), it will be reviewed by an admin, then deleted if no one has contested on the talk page. I believe adding a dedicated deletion policy would overcomplicate this.
While we're at it, I'm curious as to why literal blank pages were created, with no boilerplate, or even any mbox. I brought this up to discuss here, but I'm guessing you didn't see it. By creating a blank page instead of leaving it as a red link it can: 1) make navigation harder and frustrating for the reader, 2) page becomes abandoned, especially if it isn't noticed when first created (big history of this on the wiki), 3) makes wiki appear unprofessional, outdated and unfinished which diminishes reliability, 4) contributes to the maintenance of the wiki, which takes up other editor's time as now it's a priority issue that needs to be fixed, rather than being created when someone is ready to do it. This last one is a big one, as we'll need to add {{stub}} to it, when we already have over 200 stub articles, many of which we've had for years.
- Vaileasys (talk) Wiki Administrator 02:10, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
These are red links on the Louisville page which Calvy created, instead of thanking me, he referred to my edits as "spam" which is uncivil.
I created them very quickly.
As editors do and I have done.
Indeed, I had to clean up Calvy's edits when he first began to edit here. Instead of berating him and calling his edits spam, I praised his edits.
There is a lack of good faith with Calvy and ThinkDoc. Ikip (talk) 16:31, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
It was said to be spam-like ("borderline spam"), since it was empty pages with literal dot for reasons Vaileasys explained above. As far as the rest, none of us saw any hostility from ThinkDock or Calvy and yeah, we're not adding deletion policy for the reason Vaileasys explained. —Faalagorn/ 01:23, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
