Talk:Louisville Police Department and Detention Services

From PZwiki

I revised the edit

The armory requires no tools to open (sledgehammer, hammer or screwdriver). Neither of the doors are locked. Ikip (talk) 04:41, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Old build.

Added speculation

It maybe the regional headquarters of Knox Country law enforcement. Like Leafhill Heights and Evergreen Hill and the cafe with the incorrect name on the map we all use, this is acceptable speculation. Ikip (talk) 22:18, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

Leafhill Heights and Evergreen hill aren't speculation. The only speculation is the borders of those neighborhoods which has its base in roads and building styles. We have actual in game information that confirms that those places exist. There is nothing to even begin speculation that this is the regional headquarters for Knox Country. It just happens to be a large police station in a very large city, which is not uncommon. That's not evidence of regional headquarters. I would argue the sign saying it is the Louisville Police department... would be sufficient to say this is anything but the regional headquarters of Knox Country. Less it say Knox Country Regional Police Department.
I have already asked you previously to provide any evidence that this location is the headquarters of anything, a decision was already made that the intro should just contain the building, what it is, and its location. As it already has an overview section for these types of edits. I will add an unverified tag on this information until discussion is complete. Calvy (talk) 02:53, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
There's a few things here:
  1. I don't know much about this location, but unless it's stated or alluded to in some way, I would avoid stating it's the regional police station. Including "it's the largest police station in Knox Country" would suffice, but I believe that could be included in the first sentence.
  2. I also think that it's safe to assume that Evergreen or Evergreen Hill is a neighborhood in Louisville given that both the Evergreen Public School and Evergreen Hill Community Center have it. The border is what's unclear. I don't know about Leafhill Heights, but the name does sound like a neighborhood. This may be something we need to check with the TIS map team. Knowing the neighborhoods would help navigation when referring to a region, as Louisville is so large.
  3. The introduction should be kept brief, see the style guide. Most of the time it'll just be one sentence. So in this case something like: "The Louisville Police Department and Detention Services is the largest police station and prison located in Louisville."
  4. If you notice any incorrect names on the interactive map, notify Faalagorn.
