I am a self-taught amateur coder. I've spent a lot of my youth learning [[wikipedia:Java (programming language)|Java]] while [https://curseforge.com/members/vaileasys/projects creating mods] for [[wikipedia:Minecraft|Minecraft]], beginning in 2011. Since becoming a wiki editor, I've learnt a significant amount about [[wikipedia:Help:Wiki markup|wiki markup]], [[wikipedia:HTML|HTML]] and [[wikipedia:Cascading_Style_Sheets|CSS]]. I've continued to improve in LUA and have created a [https://steamcommunity.com/id/vaileasys/myworkshopfiles/ few mods for Project Zomboid] (currently outdated) along with several private projects. I've been teaching myself Python to assist with automating repetitive and tedious tasks, which can then be used to update content quickly. [https://github.com/Vaileasys See my GitHub repos].

In my personal life, I am working full-time for a major Australian electricity distributor and working on the Project Zomboid wiki and mods in my spare time.  
I first played [[Project Zomboid]] in 2013 and started contributing to the wiki in 2018. Back then, the wiki was frequently considered 'outdated' (most content from 2011) and lacked any consistency. Being a perfectionist, I had to contribute, starting with icons and the [[items]] page. At the time I was a science student (Biochemistry), with expertise in research and report writing, which I found to be perfect for a wiki (less jargon; more detail).


I first played [[Project Zomboid]] in 2013 and have continued to play on and off. I decided to contribute to the wiki when I came across it in 2018 looking for answers, however the majority of articles were severely outdated or contained very basic information. Since then, I've taken it upon myself to do my best at bringing this wiki up-to-date and keeping it up to date, whilst also continuing to improve it.
These days, I make fewer contributions to page content, as I focus more on the 'behind-the-scenes' content, such as creating and updating [[:Category:Templates|templates]], leading [[PZwiki:Community portal#Projects|projects]], and helping others on [https://discord.com/channels/136501320340209664/473467044050894858 discord] (where I frequent).

About me

Since becoming a wiki editor, I've learnt a significant amount about wiki markup, HTML and CSS.
