A muffler is an item forming part of a vehicle, and can be found in three different variants, old, average and performance. It will slowly degrade over time while driving, and cannot be repaired.
Usage
Noise reduction
A muffler is used to reduce the loudness caused by the vehicle's engine. The lower the condition of the muffler, the louder the engine will be, therefore attracting the attention of more zombies and from greater distances. The type of muffler also influences how loud a vehicle is. From loudest to softest, they are old, average, and performance.
It is possible to drive a vehicle without a muffler, however the noise caused by the engine will be significantly louder - multiplied by 2, instead of the muffler multiplier.
Installing
A muffler can be installed on a vehicle using a Wrench at Mechanics level 5 without possibility of damage. It is not possible to mix car part types. For example, a sport class muffler cannot be fitted onto a heavy duty class vehicle.
Condition
Mufflers slowly lose condition while driving, and cannot be repaired. This means the only source of new mufflers is salvaging them from other vehicles.
