Illiterate is a negative trait.

Overview

Cannot read books.

This trait stops the player from being able to read any literature. It gives 8 points and can be chosen during character creation.

Unable to get a mood boost by reading leisure books, learn new recipes by reading recipe magazines, or get an XP multiplier by reading skill books, as all of these require an understanding of text.
In future Build 42, illiteracy will also prevent characters from writing/reading map text and nutritional information on packaged foods.
