|Text = Hello and welcome to the last monthly summary this year, though I hope there's still more changes to come before the year officially closes! A lot has happened during the previous month, so let's get into summarizing all the projects and changes done!
|text = Welcome again to the monthly summary! February is technically the shortest month in the year (less with the leap day this year), though with me writing the summary on each Sunday, I guess it's more dependent on the weeks' layout than the days alone. Anyway, this we got a lot to cover this month, so let's get into it!

First of all, all the projects were updated a little. Starting this month they will be of a little more focus each time, but all the minor contributors are going to be mentioned as well! Hopefully, the slightly-neglected projects of [[PZwiki:Project Electricals and Transmission|Electricals and Transmission]], [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]] will get a leader and get some new new spotlight or get finished like [[PZwiki:Project Vehicles and Mechanics|Project Vehicles and Mechanics]] and new will be created as needed. Following [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] suggestion, this is the first month where each of the project leaders get a chance to say something, but right now only [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] took the occasion, but thanks anyway!
This month started with some [[PZwiki:Awards|PZwiki awards]] cleanups, originally introduced by [[User:Connall|Connall]] as userboxes back in 2014 and slightly brought back in 2018, they were introduced as barnstars by [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] late last year, but were to expansive for us, so instead of removing, I trimmed them down. There will be some more cleanups done later down the line, especially since they aren't used really widely, but since a few users seemed to at least get fond of them, I kept them, giving credit where it's due.

Thanks to [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]], other than his great contribution in all the other template areas, the [[Template:Userbox]] was redone in a simpler format and now counts contributors they still miss some images, but feel free to wield them on your [[Special:MyPage|user page]]!
Next, thanks to [[User:NasKo|nasKo]] we got new roles on [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord] for wiki admins and wiki editors the latter will be used to announce important messages and monthly summaries, so that's nice to have. We had some organizational/coordination updates too, more on that below.

Anyway, let's get into summarizing this month's active projects, in alphabetical order:
Then, next main thing down the line was introduction of automated distribution template thanks to [[User:Calvy|Calvy]], carrying on the loose idea from [[User:Carina|Carina]] marked in [[PZwiki:Tasks|PZwiki tasks]] page for a while. The script used also brought back a need of coordinated place on GitHub for those scripts – we might get a proper repository somewhere down the line, but right now they are being collected as a part of [https://github.com/stars/Faalagorn/lists/pzwiki-scripts this list]. They are slowly being updated on item pages.

===Project Build 41 Update===
Which bring us to another huge job [[User:Calvy|Calvy]] was performing this month, utilizing [[User:CalvyBot|CalvyBot]] to perform thousands of mundane tasks with clever [[Wikipedia:Regular expression|regex]] scripts with [[mw:Manual:Pywikibot|Pywikibot]], that brought us tons of minor fixes but also helping tremendously with both [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]] and removal of language bar lately (which is now replaced by a sidebar), as well as deploying new infoboxes…
'''[[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]]''' was always slow to catch over the years, but it's even closer to being finished than ever. Thanks to great contributions of [[User:Angostura|Angostura]] adding and updating some of the [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update#Other items|misc items]] and [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] adding stubs for some new [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update#Clothing|clothing]], we are closing to at least having a page for every lootable item currently in the game. I also did some much-needed cleanups to [[items]] page, as well as created redirects for old misc item names from the code, listed at [[PZwiki:Item List]], bringing them to a much healther shape. There are still some improvements left to when it comes to the items and then the individual pages, after that it's mostly, constructions, some [[crafting]] and [[skills]] pages that need to be brought back. I also improved the [[player]] page, adding info about the ''[[Player#Character panel|character panel]]''. The new [[Player#Protection|protection]] and [[Temperature|temperature]] sections still need write-up and images, so if you want to help, you can improve them, as it's the last of the general pages tasks from build 41 update!

===Project Locations and Maps===
…Which again, brings us yet another point, being the new infoboxes! By now, pretty much all the infoboxes are moved to the newer look and functionality, with the old ones being deprecated and removed soon™.
'''[[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]]''' again took the spotlight. We had great contributions from the project leader, [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]], improving the pages one by one as well as some additions of missing pages and [[Template:Navbox businesses|navbox businesses]] update from [[User:Ikip|Ikip]]. However, we also had a bunch of contributions from other folks! Here's the project summary from  [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]]
<blockquote>
Hi all! [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] here. I'll be doing the summaries for Locations and Maps going forward.

While I haven’t been as active as I’d like to around the end of the month due to me starting a new job as a car salesman, we’ve still made a ''ton'' of progress this month. I’d like to personally thank everyone who contributed articles. '''Now that I’m done training and have a proper schedule, I’ll be back to my usual state of activity'''.
And another not-project-related work by Calvy is elaborating on [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] idea of adding [[item tags]] – these will probably be especially useful on [[build 42]] with the new crafting systems, but are starting to be useful right now!

We saw a large amount of edits on a wide variety of articles this month. Here’s a quick summary.
And finally, before getting to the project summaries, we also had some organizational changes:
*I took the leadership of [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] from [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]], slowly trying to bring it to finish. We'll probably open a [[build 42]] project after that, but gotta finish off the old crust first.
*[[User:Calvy|Calvy]] took the leadership of the [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]] from the busy [[User:HakunaWhiskey|HakunaWhiskey]] to finally get the attention it deserves, mo on that later.
*Sadly the [[PZwiki:Project Modding|Project Modding]] lost its leadership now – it was always on a backburner, but maybe will see some love down the line.

[[User:Ikip|Ikip]], as always, has absolutely knocked it out of the park this month! Not only did he add [[adverts]] to the articles of nearly every company advertised, he also did a great job in starting to categorize the navbox businesses template to make it easier to read! Great job! While the template isn’t in its final form and there are likely some additional changes and cleanups on the way later down the line, it's an absolutely fantastic start and will certainly work for now. Great work!
The [[PZwiki:Tasks|Tasks]] got some cleanups too, some things moved to projects properly.

[[User:the (plastic) cheeseman|the (plastic) cheeseman]], while being a newcomer to the wiki, did a fantastic job expanding and reworking the [[Dixie Hwy]] article, as well as helping to expand the article on [[Doe Valley]]. They also helped make some minor edits to other articles, namely the [[Laundromat]] article. Thanks for all your help!
===Project Build 41 Update===
Following the leadership changes in '''[[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]]''', I updated the job board and listed everythin that remains to be done. It's mostly a few missing items (some of which can be moved to [[build 42]] project if they don't make it, as they only be spawned in [[debug mode]] and by admin in [[multiplayer]], as well as bringing skills, items, recipes and tiles up to date, some of the tasks being shared with the [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]] and [[PZwiki:Project Seat Yourself Furniture|Project Seat Yourself Furniture]], so some focus could shift there eventually.

[[User:Slightsmile|Slightsmile]] also helped out with some elaborative edits to various buildings, and also created the article for the [[Ohio River]]. Thanks!
Some items, mainly clothing, were split to separate pages too, following the new infobox, codebox and distribution deployments, to not host too much on one page. There will be a few more that will be split, some missing pages updated and afterwards the main focus will be updating the pages to 41.78.16 from [[:Category:Version]].

[[User:Stock|Stock]] also helped out a bit here and there with some minor edits. While they seem insignificant, they are extremely important and help make the wiki pages as accurate as possible. Thanks for your help!
We also don't announce the project through the site notice now, as it's closer than ever to being finished!

I mainly focused on getting [[Muldraugh]] locations up to date this month. I planned on finishing it before month’s end, but my new job derailed that a bit, unfortunately. It should be done by the end of the day on Sunday, December 3rd.
Aside from that, we had some valuable contributions, too, thank you!
*[[User:Stock|Stock]] creating [[Bowling Shoes]] page.
*[[User:DevoTan|DevoTan]] adding some items and updating what's needed to be updated [[ammo]] pages.
*[[User:Calvy|Calvy]] helping with some pages in between too and adding missing models slowly.

As for what to expect in the future, I personally will be focusing on getting all the spawn towns up to date, as they are the most commonly visited locations and are thus a high priority. Once those are all done, I’ll be doing some collaboration with the folks over at [[PZWiki:Project Navigation and Categories]] to get all the newly uploaded images of logos and buildings categorized accordingly. Any help on that would be fantastic, as it’s a lot of ground to cover. Then it'll most likely be finishing up the minor towns of [[Fallas Lake]] and [[March Ridge]], as well as [[Doe Valley]], before finally heading off to the juggernaut that is [[Louisville]]. That’s only on my end, though! Feel free to use either the discord channel or project talk page to discuss future plans with other contributors.
===Project Locations and Maps===
The '''[[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]]''' is probably the most active one, sadly resulting in one contributor being blocked from editing because of some mishaps, but other than that it's getting healthy management of [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]], including article rewrites and image categorization and contributions from other users.

Let’s all get together and make December one hell of a send-off for 2023!
Here's the summary from [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]]:
</blockquote>
<blockquote>
Hi all, [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] here. While there were a few more heated debates and some speed bumps along the way, including an unfortunate loss of a contributor, January was a great month for locations and maps! Here's a quick summary:

===Project Modding===
Unfortunately, I am sad to announce that our long-time contributor [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] was banned. His contributions were greatly appreciated, and will live on in the reworks and templates that we continue to use.
'''[[PZwiki:Project Modding|Project Modding]]''' is the new kid in town. Summarizing modding changes was there for the previous months, but there wasn't a proper project being set yet, so it was created. [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] was designated as a new leader, so we'll see what will come out of it! There wasn't many new additions to the project yet, but we got the new [[Template:Navbox modding]] in progress, and we got some contributions from folks such as [[User:Valiko2023|Valiko2023]] adding some mods info to the [[vehicles]] page (as well as contributing elsewhere). and [[User:Albion|Albion]] returning to contribute some new guides. We'll see what the future will bring to the project, so if you want to help, you are free to help!

===Project Navigation and Categories===
[[User:Calvy|Calvy]] Finished up the rest of the first pass of [[Louisville]], so now all that needs to be done is formatting and other cleanups. However, he has mostly been busy with clothing and other items. That doesn't mean he hasn't knocked it completely out of the park with brainstorming, though! Thanks for all your help!
'''[[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]]''' is the one big task that's slowly being updated. We had a new screenshot of the new category layout screenshot thanks to [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] and a text version thanks to [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]], though keep in mind that things are still not set in stone and are changing. But thanks to the [[mw:Extension:CategoryTree|CategoryTree extensions]] installed by [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] last month it's easier to grasp. [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] is also helping with his newly created [[User:VibranceBot|VibranceBot]], which surely proves handy! And, as [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] wrote, he also wants to help down the line with categorization, so we are slowly but steadily progressing.

===Project Seat Yourself Furniture===
[[User:Ksilem|Ksilem]] Also helped out by reworking the [[Laundromat]] page, as well as adding on to various pages, including some [[Doe Valley]] and [[Fallas Lake]] works. This will make it a lot easier to complete these towns faster. They also did lots of brainstorming in the Discord. Thanks!
'''[[PZwiki:Project Seat Yourself Furniture|Project Seat Yourself Furniture]]''' is my pet-peeve that needs some love. Sadly no real contribution this month, as I focus on items, but after we're done with [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] I'll plan to get back to it!

===Project Translations===
[[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] and [[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]] helped with some brainstorming as well, mainly with figuring out what categories will be relevant for the project and which ones we have and don't have. Thanks, it's great to have admin support!
'''[[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]]''' has a new leader now; [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]]! He's been helping tremendously with setting the templates and aiding with translations of templates. We also have a revamped {{Tlx|User language}} infobox which you can use to set the language you speak so it's easier to find folks to contribute translations and collaborate, so make sure to set it in your [[Special:MyPage|user page]]!

We're also in the process of organizing testing for [[mw:MediaWiki Language Extension Bundle|MediaWiki Language Extension Bundle]], might take some time to test and install it properly, but if it will be there, contributing translations will surely get easier, so stay tuned!
I personally did a lot of stuff behind the scenes this month, namely getting almost all the images of locations categorized. In the future, when we upload images, I want to kindly ask everyone to edit their page and categorize them according to what town the location is in, even if the category isn't made yet. If anyone knows how to work bots, please hit me up, as I had to do it all manually.

There was also some revamp to the project table, which should be much clearer now in [[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]].
I also got moderator privileges on the Map Project (Thanks [[User:Blindcoder|blindcoder]]!) so I will be adding more and more POIs on there as my time frees up. I also added the ''site maintenance'' task on the job board, so if you want to help out with behind the scenes stuff as well, feel free to, as now I have a documented list available.

Finally, this month we had some [[Help:Translations#Sidebar translations|sidebar transaltions]] and overall great amount of translation, let's break it down to each language:
As for future plans, after I have all the newer images categorized, I'm going to finish up Fallas Lake and then focus on improving consistency for the Map Project to keep it in line with the wiki. After that's mostly accomplished, it'll be off to the rest of the smaller towns and then the massive juggernaut of Louisville! I don't see myself getting through all that in only one month, so changes after that will be discussed in the next summary. That's just me, though! Feel free to use the Discord or project talk page to discuss with other contributors!

====Simplified Chinese====
See y'all next month!
*[[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]], continues contributing translation, as well as doing tremendous work elsewhere!
</blockquote>

====French====
Other than that, there were two more old-time contributors helping us as well, as well as one newcomer fixing location coordinates, those help too!
*[[User:Peter_Griffin|Peter_Griffin]] contributing some translation early this month
*[[User:The (plastic) Cheeseman|The (plastic) Cheeseman]] expanding some pages.
*[[User:Did|Did]] contributing translations for [[Game modes/fr]], and finally
*[[User:Slightsmile|Slightsmile]] expanding some pages as well.
*[[User:Danash|Danash]] who not only translated the sidebar, but also a lot of templates and pages this month, thank you '''a lot'''!
*[[User:Doncaster|Doncaster]] fixing wrong coordinates for [[Filigree Fashions]].

====Italian====
I also helped with some image miscategorization lately, which should help the [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]] too!
*Italian didn't saw much edits, but at least we had a sidebar translated from someone who wish to stay annonymous, thanks!

====Korean====
===Project Modding===
*[[User:Atlas7|Atlas7]] continuing with a steady contributions from Korean
Like I mentioned before, the '''[[PZwiki:Project Modding|Project Modding]]''' project didn't get much attention sadly. It's currently looking for new ownership, so if you think you are up for the task of managing it, let us know either here on the wiki or on the [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord].
*[[User:Boi|Boi]] helping with translation as of recent, I also asked for the help of the sidebar transatlions, so maybe we'll get them for Korean as well; thanks in advance!

====Brazilian Portugese====
It did see a contribution to the active [[list of Tiledefs in use by mods]] page by [[User:Glytch3r|Glytch3r]] this month, thanks!
*[[User:Cadotroto|Cadotroto]] was mentioned in previous summary, but still contributed some translation in the beginning of the month
*[[User:OFUN|OFUN]] provided some contributions to [[Knox Event/pt-br]]
*[[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] didn't manage to provide any contributions sadly, but say she'll get back to it when she'll have a working computer, so awaiting eagerly!

====Russian====
===Project Navigation and Categories===
*[[User:Shpatell|Shpatell]] contributing some translations.
The '''[[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]]''' saw probably the most attention this month, the layout was finally pretty much finalized, with the only remaining ones being [[clothing]] (and unrelated [[Template:Body location]] changes), and materials intricacies when it comes to the item and some cleanups to other categories which will be narrowed down the line, possibly by other projects. Here's the summary from the project leader, [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]]:
Although we had some Russian-speaking translators in the recent past, the sidebar is still not translated despite the amount of work being put, so maybe someone will translate the sidebar as well ;)?
<blockquote>
We've had a lot of progress with the project this month, largely thanks to Calvy and the use of his bot swapping the [[Template:Header|header]] and updating categories.
This month we've completed:
*[[:Category:World]]
*[[:Category:Development]]
*[[:Category:Tiles]] - this may need another review over the next month
*[[:Category:Equipment]]
*[[:Category:Materials]]

====Spanish====
Other than some minor adjustments, the last major category left is [[:Category:Clothing]], which has been put on hold temporarily until we finalise the layout.
*[[User:Teromax34|Teromax34]] providing '''a lot''' of contributions during the month, also contributing a sidebar translation, thanks!
</blockquote>
*[[User:Maca|Maca]] also providing some translations
I also took a look at separating regular European Spanish from [[Wikipedia:Rioplatense Spanish|Spanish (Argentina)]], since they are different in-game, but seems that unlike the Chinese and Portugese that can't be done so easily, without having a full support. I noted that below the table if you are curious, but since then, let's just hope the differences in the item names and translations won't prove to be much problematic!

====Turkish====
There was some categorization decisions related to [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]].
*[[User:Sarma|Sarma]] was also mentioned in the previous summary, but still contributed some translation throught the month.
*[[User:Ksilem|Ksilem]] contributing '''tons''' of translations, as well as translating the sidebar, thank you a lot!
*[[User:Elois97|Elois97]] translating the [[Army surplus store/tr]] page.

==Other important works==
===Project Seat Yourself Furniture===
There were also important upadtes that don't belong to a specific project, but are more than a minor ones:
As expected not much moved in the '''[[PZwiki:Project Seat Yourself Furniture|Project Seat Yourself Furniture]]''' yet, but it got some minor job progress mainly thanks to the rapid progress in the Project Spiffo's Construction Crew and some in the Project Build 41 Update. Hopefully after both of them will be reaching mature stage, this project will get back to spotlight again!
*Firstly, [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] added new [[PZwiki:Barnstars|Barnstars]] awards, with [[User:Pohly|Pohly]] contributing some PZwiki images for it, as well as adding the new welcome template, though they have to be cleaned up, as they are very much copy-pasted from [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia|Wikipedia]] as-is and we also have to take a look if we can merge them with the existing {{Tlx|Userbox}}es, as well as the {{Tlx|User freshling/info}} which serves the same purpose. There were some old awards too, that were temporarily restored, but they also have to be cleaned up if they prove to be useful, not to clutter outself with things that get too much dated and not maintained.
*Old versions in [[version history]] page all got header and infobox added, with [[build 41]] page in particular seeing some missing versions added, expect the notes for the missing versions to be added shortly, and maybe some formatting/links to add, as well as cleanups to older versions! We also have the new {{Tlx|Version category}} template being slowly rolled in and new categories for all the minor versions. I am also thinking of naming the build/version, still undecided on that, but expect more cleanups to come!
*[[User:Valiko2023|Valiko2023]], after having their changes copied from eleswhere and invited to do some edits here by [[User:Ikip|Ikip]], did some awesome contributions to the maps, vehicles and some other pages, including some Russian translations. Thank you and hope you are here to stay and help us improve sutff, including the previously-mentioned projects!
*[[User:Dan39|Dan39]] and [[User:Zomboidtripod|Zomboidtripod]] updating the [[dedicated server]] Linux instructions, also helping answering [[User:Zomzom|Zomzom]]'s question.
*And finally, [[User:Halosammy|Halosammy]] improved the [[Knox Event]] page, fixing all the minor issues and rewording things more, this is an important page to the lore, thanks to the Pat Bren's tweets, thank you a lot and hope we will see similar treatment to other lore pieces when we get them!

===Minor changes===
===Project Spiffo's Construction Crew===
And the usual minor, but important fixes contributed so far from the community in roughly chronological order:
A lot has happened for the '''[[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]]''', it's yet far from being finished, especially as it all correlates with different projects and side projects, but it's catching speed real quick. Let me get the summary from the current project leader, [[User:Calvy|Calvy]]:
*[[User:Cryptic|Cryptic]] contributing a fix to the [[health]] page.
<blockquote>
*[[User:Miruku|Miruku]] contributing a fix to the [[tailoring]] page.
G'day editors. It's been a good month over in [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|SCC]] land. After finishing [[PZwiki:Project Electricals and Transmission|Project Electricals and Transmission]] I took up the role of leader from [[User:HakunaWhiskey|HakunaWhiskey]], who I'd like to thank for their work on the project before me.
*[[User:Teldae|Teldae]] verified [[fishing]] chances.
*[[User:OutdatedNameGuy|OutdatedNameGuy]] contributing some info about [[Survivor#Survivor homes|Survivor homes]] (the survivor and [[companions]] pages sill need some cleanups, so feel free to help!).
*[[User:UserName1234|UserName1234]] tried contributing some barricaded city block bug, but we were all puzzled what it is, I kinda missed it so I'll be trying to reach what it's about, as it can be something important!
*[[User:Mhattrix|Mhattrix]] contributing a note for [[Crafted Spear]].
*[[User:Honaaa|Honaaa]] contributed some changes to the [[Dash Rancher]] as well as  [[vehicles]] pages.
*[[User:Jake|Jake]] contributed some minor changes to the [[foraging]] page.
*[[User:Mining Master|Mining Master]] updated the values for Water Bottle (Bourbon) in the [[water containers]].
*[[User:Volc323|Volc323]] returning with contributing a minor fix/trivia to [[A-1 Laundry]] following the page updates in [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]].
*[[User:Kdjnchii|Kdjnchii]] updated the [[food]] values, even if that led to some trouble with all the templates we had.
*[[User:RIDAI|RIDAI]] officially on the break, but returning for a small fix to [[generator]] sound range.
*[[User:Saro8802|Saro8802]] fixing wrong ID for [[Sno Gloes]] in the [[food]] table.
*[[User:TheLastRonin|TheLastRonin]] updated the capacity of the Military Crate Capacity in [[containers]] page.
*[[User:Strinja|Strinja]] mentioned [[trailer]] cargo dropping when damaged.
*[[User:P4N1C|P4N1C]] contributing a minor fix to the [[Garden Hoe]] page.
*[[User:Isopod Gaming|Isopod Gaming]] fixing a typo in [[Crafted Spear]] page.
*[[User:LostRebel|LostRebel]] contributing a minor note for [[Katana]] (I believe it's technically the rarest melee weapon not counting the [[chainsaw]] that's only there for debug, and weapons that are currently found only by the new [[foraging]] system, but definitely most sought-after one).
*[[User:Lemongarbage|Lemongarbage]] contributed a fix to [[startup parameters]], though I'd need to verify that.
*[[User:ProjectZomboider|ProjectZomboider]] making a [[Trauma Bag]], being added in one of the latest [[build 41]] patches, right when I was posting the monthly summary, a great addition to the [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] though it still need fixes; hopefully incoming!
Hopefully, no one was missed, and remember, you can always find the contributors from the past 30 days in alphabetical order [[Special:ActiveUsers|Active users list]].

We also had some folks updating their user pages but not really contributing yet, so I guess they will have an occasion to do so in the nearest future!
By contributor count, we're the smallest project (besides the on hold [[PZwiki:Project Modding|modding project]]), and it was clear that construction had been neglected for quite some time. Due to this, a large portion of this month has been dedicated to getting a good framework to build off of, including a full overhaul of the job board. So far the completed work this month includes;
*Categorising relevant articles.
*Marking articles as stubs, or requiring improvement where needed.
*Working with [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project B41]] to design and deploy [[Template:Infobox tile]], replacing the multitude of different infoboxes.
**Creating [[Item tags]] for the new <code>X_tool_tag</code> parameter.
*Creating and deploying [[Template:Construction hp]] to relevant articles.
*Verifying information in [[Template:Crafting carpentry]] and [[Template:Crafting metalworking]].
*Article updates;
**Most construction related items are completed.
**Wall articles are in a much better place.

===Affiliates===
I'd like to thank both [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] and [[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]] for their help across the project, and coordination with their respective projects to standardise articles. As well as;
We still only have one affiliate, the [https://fallout.wiki/ Independent Fallout Wiki], but I'm proud to announce than thanks to the information from [[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]], that:
*[[User:PotatoEngine|PotatoEngine]] - Edits to [[Water Dispenser]].
<blockquote>We are celebrating our one year since freedom this month and also hit 55,000 articles. Those are the highlights so far. Woooooooo!</blockquote>
*[[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]] - Design feedback via [[Discord]].
With us ''only'' being at ({{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} (but also covering just one game, or maybe two if we mention [[PAWS]] ;)), that's impressive feat indeed!
*Anyone else I may have missed with various edits.

===Future works===
For the coming month we'll be focusing on articles themselves, we still have missing articles from B41s release, and a large list of articles to update and improve.
And finally, the future works – we did some cleanups for the existing templates, removing what's not needed. Hopefully the new translation system will be there more than sooner than later, so we can further establish the translation templates' situation. There are still some templates that need cleaning, following the recent additions, these are all outlines in the [[PZwiki:Tasks]]. [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] is also working on a new [[Main Page/sandbox|Main Page]] which is more streamlined and slightly better optimized, as well as [[PZwiki:Community portal/sandbox|Commuinity portal]] merging the community portal and community project pages together. I was eager to merge them with minor fixes yesterday, so I could write it in this post, but ideally someone else should also take a look before I do that, given what big change is it, so It's better to wait a week or so to gather feedback – if you have any, feel free to leave it to me either on my talk page or on [https://discord.gg/theindiestone TIS Discord's #pzwiki_editing channel]!

When it comes to me, I'll continue updating the item and then other pages, focusing on finishing the [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] and helping with other projects along the way, mainly the [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]], in between monitoring the [[Special:RecentChanges|Recent changes]].
Overall a really good start to the project, and looking forward there's a lot of work left to go, but I have no doubts that we can get it done.

It is also the last monthly summary this year, the next one being scheduled for early 2024 (first Sunday being 7th of January), so I wish you a happy and peaceful New Year, and holiday season for those celebrating as well, though obviously I'll be around on the Wiki and Discord in the meantime! See you around and till the next time! —[[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]][[User talk:Faalagorn|]]/[[Special:Contributions/Faalagorn|✓]] 17:07, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, [[User:Calvy|Calvy]].

It would be nice to thanks [[User:ThreeLime|ThreeLime]] doing some meaningful contributions to the somewhat-neglected-yet-popular [[carpentry]] page!

===Project Translations===
{{Wiki news
The '''[[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]]''' didn't see a huge changes with [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] waiting [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] to let us test the [[mw:Extension:Translate|Translate extension]] before evaluating it being deployed, to hopefully make keeping translations up to date easier, but it might take some time. It also made [[User:Ksilem|Ksilem]] focus more on helping with English pages, including the ones from [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]] which is important task for a healthy basis for other translators!
|Title = Wiki news
|Date = {{#dateformat:2023-11-05|dmy}}
|Text = And here's the another monthly summary! I was considering posting it sooner, since it proved to be a very active month, especially for various [[PZwiki:Community projects|projects]], but I stuck to the now first Sunday of a month.

===Project Vehicles and Mechanics===
[[PZwiki:Project Vehicles and Mechanics|Project Vehicles and Mechanics]] was officially closed on {{#dateformat:9 October 2023|dmy}}, mostly thanks to the latest push done by the [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]]! All the pages were updated and updated to the latest build ([[Build 41|build 41.78.16]]). You are of course still free to correct any typos, fixes, mistakes and add new stuff, but there's no need for coordinated overhaul project now! Next on line are [[PZwiki:Project Electricals and Transmission|Project Electricals and Transmission]] and [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]] that need some love, especially with the Project Spiffo's Construction Crew lacking pages and having some back dating back to [[build 39]] (yikes!).

===Project Build 41 Update===
Speaking of [[Version history|builds]], most of the pages in the [[Main Page|main page]] are now updated to ([[Build 41|build 41.78.16]])! Keep in mind some info are either [[:Category:Stub articles|stubbed]], [[:Category:Articles in need of improvement|in need of improvement]] or still [[:Category:Outdated articles|outdated]] (at least the sections), some could still use some image updates as some range to pre-41 ones. Next on line are [[items]] which are currently in progress, partially from the great work done by [[User:Angostura|Angostura]], including fishing adding the food pages and possibly reaching for more!

===Project Navigation and Categories===
Anyway, that doesn't mean there wasn't any strides being done – the <nowiki>{{Languages}}</nowiki> template is finally being retired in favor of the sidebar, done by [[User:CalvyBot|Calvy's bot]] and I'll finally get myself to update the remaining 7 main pages to the new format, to retire the old templates. We're also slowly moving away from the translation database from {{tlx|Translate}} and {{tlx|T}} in favor for {{tlx|ll}} and retiring <nowiki>{{Sp}}</nowiki> in favor of {{tlx|lcs}} template.
[[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]] while not having a major push yet, saw some deserved attention. The tasks were cleaned up and most of the lanaguage categories were moved appropriately. Some templates were improved too, including {{Tlx|Languages}} and {{Tlx|Header}} templates, thanks to [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]]!

Also, the [[:Category:Version|Category:Version]] got updated, now counting the minor versions too and with, so it's easy to see which pages are most outdated. We'll see how it behaves when [[build 42]] hits, but so far it's easier to see see pages that weren't updated to [[Build 41|build 41.78.16]] yet.
As far as specific translations though, we saw some activity as usual, thank you everyone!

===Project Locations and Maps===
====Traditional Chinese====
[[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] saw '''the most''' of the work past month, thanks to the combined efforts from [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]] with the project managment and cleanup of the pages, [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] adding tremendous amount of pages and exporting, stiching and straighening [[businesses]]' logos, as well as the recent help from the newcomer [[User:The (plastic) Cheeseman|The (plastic) Cheeseman]] doing great work, including taking care of the [[Doe Valley]] page and more! [[User:Pohly|Pohly]], the previous proejct leader, helped us too at the beginning of October. Also thanks goes to the [[User:Asbestosgremlin|Asbestosgremlin]] for their help with the [[Romuald Dron Memorial Park]] and [[User:Slightsmile|Slightsmile]] for creating the [[Doe Valley]] page!
*[[User:A41133tw|A41133tw]] contributing some translations as usual this month, nice!

We also saw some help from the developers, with [[User:NasKo|NasKo]] helping clear the situation with the naming of [[Hair O Genesis]] as well as confirming some other trivias, [[User:FoxChaotica|FoxChaotica]] contributing a trivia about the [[Blue Fox]] and [[User:Blindcoder|Blindcoder]] (the official [https://map.projectzomboid.com/ map project] creator/maintainer promising to help with some POI/names clear-ups as well next week, so we'll see how it goes! Also see [[Project Zomboid Map Project POI submission style guideline]] for more info about contributing the names.

===Project Translations===
====Simplified Chinese====
====Simplified Chinese====
*[[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] was helping here the most as always doing terrific work this month translating, fixing but also helping with the mentioned-before and overall template fixes, as well as discussing changes in Discord, thanks!
*[[User:CHN20240222|CHN20240222]] contributing translations for [[Traits/zh-hans]].
*[[User:Daniel|Daniel]], however, was also helping with some minor works! Also thanks for the clarification for [[zombie]]s in English page!

====Traditional Chinese====
====Czech====
*[[User:Daniel|Daniel]] was the sole contributor here, in addition to simplified chinese, thanks!
*[[User:NyaCZ|NyaCZ]] joining and adding some Czech translations – some templates usage had to be corrected, but it's understandable, as they are confused sometimes.

====French====
====French====
*[[User:Peter Griffin|Peter Griffin]] being the sole contributor at the beginning of November, so we'll see how much it goes, especially as French could use some updates.
*[[User:Julien furious|Julien furious]] translating [[Metalworking (crafting)/fr]].

====Italian====
====German====
*[[User:Saro8802|Saro8802]] returning with some minor fixes for Italian.
*[[User:Combreaker|Combreaker]] contributing some translations.

*[[User:Bueno|Bueno]] contributing some translations to the [[First Aid/pt-br]].

====Brazilian Portuguese====
*[[User:Cadotroto|Cadotroto]] doing the work here this month,
However, [[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] said she'll return to helping ar around half of the month, after solving the issues with keyboard, so awaiting eagerly here!

*[[User:Shpatell|Shpatell]] contributing some translation and also contributing a minor fix to [[Hazmat Suit]].

*[[User:Notauser|Notauser]] translating some of the [[Bags/es]].
*[[User:Teromax34|Teromax34]] making some great additions at the beginning of November too!
As well as [[User:Teromax34|Teromax34]] coming back from a break, so hopefully we'll see more, Spanish being one of the most healthy languages supported on the wiki!

====Turkish====
====Turkish====
*[[User:Sarma|Sarma]] making appareance right before this being published, translating the [[Main Page/tr|main page]] into Turkish, thanks!
*[[User:Ksilem|Ksilem]] contributing translation, before staying with us helping with the general wiki tasks, especially the [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]].

There was some interest in helping from Polish as well on Discord, but sadly nothing came into fruition from it.
===Other important works===
I summarized all the most important works above, this time, but let the [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] summarize his work below:
<blockquote>
Outside of the category project, most of my time this month has been spent on adding/improving infoboxes and misc work on various other templates.

===Modding===
The bigger changes are:
Modding being a whole section on the wiki could use a separate project, something to think about, but right now listing it as a separate entry:
*[[User:Neznajka|Neznajka]] returning with a minor fix,
*[[User:Albion|Albion]] contributing a fix too,
*[[User:Omar|Omar]] contributing a minor fix similarily.
It also saw some well-deserved cleanups, including adding versions, cleaning up some categories to fit the wiki format more (but the [[scripts guide]], [[Lua Events]], [[Lua Objects]] and [[Room definitions and item spawns]] pages still need cleanups.

===Minor additions and fixes===
Infoboxes:
Let's not forget about these so important minor fixes! While they don't belong to any section, these are quick and easy to shine and help improve the overall shape of the wiki, so if you spot some error/typo/formatting issue, [[Special:UserLogin|creating]] (or logging to your existing one, even if you forgot the password) an account and contributing a fix is fast and easy (with an example lasting less than 22 seconds pinned on the ''#pzwiki_editing'' channel in the official [https://discord.gg/theindiestone The Indie Stone Discord]).
*[[Template:Infobox tile|Infobox tile]]: replaces Infobox furniture and uses the new infobox framework.
*[[User:PhantomNiqht|PhantomNiqht]] returning with a fix to [[T-shirt]],
*[[Template:Infobox item|Infobox item]]: a lot of improvements, added translatability, and completed documentation. (more work still to do)
*[[User:Cryptic|Cryptic]] with some fixes to [[Health]] at the start of the October,

*as well as one contributor that unfortunately had inapropriate name and can't be listed here.

Whew, a huge list of new and returning editors indeed. Thank you everyone for contributing!

*[[Template:Tag link|Tag link]]: template to simplify adding links to [[item tags]].

===Affiliates===
As a side project I've been developing a parser for the scripts files, along with complimentary scripts. The purpose of this is for the [[PZwiki:Item List|item list]] and simplify updating values elsewhere, such as tables on on the [[weapons]] page.
Making this the regular section from now on, we saw some minor edits from [[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]], including updating the logo of [https://fallout.wiki/ Independent Fallout Wiki] (after realized I used the Halloween logo), as well as contributing to the PZwiki! We might be taking a look at the theme changes, as the Fallout Wiki one is more mobile-friendly, though that will take time. I don't know if the reverse and whether we saw some edits of out contributors on the Independent Fallout Wiki, but if you do plan on playing Fallout, feel free to contribute to them!

===Admin activity===
====Minor fixes====
No much admin interverion was needed this month, though I spent most of my time cleaning things up, which includes some cleanups to some templates, moving things from general/"admin" [[PZwiki:Tasks|tasks]] into [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Navigation and Categories]] and [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Build 41 Update]] projects (and closing some minor tasks), as well as doing some minor works with links on the [[Main Page|main page]] (English only so far; will move it to language variants when done), some updates to the [[Help:Contents|Help pages]] and templates, as well as patrolling and cleaning the regular edits.
With that done, let's get directly into all the little but important fixes:
*[[User:Fuberti|Fuberti]] contributing some trivia.
*[[User:Kdjnchii|Kdjnchii]] providing some [[food]] value corrections.
*[[User:Limpfro|Limpfro]] fixing a typo in [[Cooking Pot]].
*[[User:LSD|LSD]] minor fix for the [[Skills]] page.
*[[User:Qunas|Qunas]] fixing a typo in [[Fire]].
*[[User:MailDeadDrop|MailDeadDrop]] fixing a typo in [[Gas Tank]].
*[[User:Diparcu|Diparcu]] with [[dedicatd server]] fixes.
*[[User:Marmarkaroo|Marmarkaroo]] clarification for [[Skills]].
*[[User:Patrwe|Patrwe]] fixing encumbrance of the [[Digital Watch]].
*[[User:VitorRi|VitorRi]] fixing wrong [[electrical]] XP gains.
*[[User:Fazbeus|Fazbeus]] fixing one wrong name.

*[[User:Dr. Strangelove|Dr. Strangelove]] fixing a wrong value in [[Exercise]].
*[[User:Champygnakx|Champygnakx]] updates for the [[Foraging]] page and minor fixes to [[weapons]] damage.
*[[User:Craxxet|Craxxet]] [[dedicated server]] page additions.
*[[User:Frightcrafter|Frightcrafter]] making last minute additions adding missing names to the [[Tie]] page.
As always, you can also see the [[Special:ActiveUsers|active users list]] page for the last 30 days.

[[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] did some minor cleanups to the templates, while [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] did evaluate some tweaks and extensions on the technical side, but nothing to introduce just yet. We're all active on Discord as well, so feel free to chat to us!
I think I forgot to mention all the prior contributions of the long-standing user [[User:LethalCitizen|LethalCitizen]], being focused on [[Easter eggs]], but Lethal also helped improve the page for [[The Indie Stone]], and creating the [[Formosa Interactive]], [[General Arcade]], [[The Eccentric Ape]], and [[Tanglewood Games]]! Thanks a lot for all the contributions!

Old pages in [[version history]] were updated as well, including confirmation from [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]], with more fixes to come later.
Also [[User:Calvy|Calvy]] again helped us fixing some of the [[Spiffo]] and [[Discord]] page, thanks!

I also standarized the format of the monthly wiki news, focusing mostly on the projects, so this format will likely stay for a forseeable future!
====Affiliates====
Nothing much changed here, but the [https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout_Wiki Independent Fallout Wiki] is being healthy as always, and so are we. Here's a short note from [[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]], an admin of the Fallout Wiki:
<blockquote>
HELL YEAH this month we are celebrating our two year anniversary and hit 65,000 articles!
</blockquote>
Congratulations on reaching 65k! That's a huge number of pages to maintain!

====Future works====
====Future works====
Future works from us will mostly focus on categorization, and I will be contributing to items, eventually maybe returning to tiles, that needs much love, but as always we'll see what the future brings, so as always, until next time! —[[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]][[User talk:Faalagorn|☎]]/[[Special:Contributions/Faalagorn|✓]] 14:10, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Next month should mark further style changes to the look of the wiki – I'll finish moving main pages to the new format, we'll finish deploying the new header, removing language toolbar in favor of sidebar and finally re-introduce the background image, so stay tuned! Some server-side things will have to wait, as [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] will be away for a week or two, so barred some emergency not much help here, but there's a lot that we have on mind, so we'll all have our hands occupied.

I'll try hard on finalizing the Build 41 updates and clearing tasks, to provide a blank canvas for future [[build 42]] update too, so hopefully we can speed it up. I'll try collaborating more with the various other projects, including the PZMap and the overall community and developers, so a bright future is ahead of us!

Thank you for making it to the end reading it all, see you around on Wiki and Discord, and in the next month summary! —[[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]][[User talk:Faalagorn|☎]]/[[Special:Contributions/Faalagorn|✓]] 18:07, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

|title = January 2024
|Date = {{#dateformat:2023-10-01|dmy}}
|date = 2024-02-04
|Text = Welcome to another monthly summary of the wiki activity! This time, it's not the last Sunday of the month, but a first Sunday of a new one. Mostly because I didn't realize that August have 30 days instead of 31, but it might actually not be a bad idea to do it like that in the future – that way I won't be uncertain where to include the last few days edits. :)
|text = Welcome everyone to the summary of the first whole month of 2024! Now that we're deep in 2024, I archived all the 2023 monthly summaries to the [[PZwiki:News/2023|2023 archive]], and changed the header names so they refer more to what the news were about. Hopefully for 2024 we will have a full 12 of the monthly summaries, with all the project summaries started in late 2023!

===Admin activity===
Despite some minor setbacks, this month was again much productive, let's start with the projects summary.
This month saw less activity from admins, but a '''huge''' activity from users, most notably from the [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]] (more below). That's good though! Meaning we made enough foundation for you guys to do the hard work, thank you!

However, this doesn't mean there was none – I mostly took care of patrolling the recent changes (which was a monstrous task this time due to sheer amount of edits, but after 3 months of patrolling the new edits straight, I'm finally up to the speed to the max number of [[Special:RecentChanges]]!
===Project Electricals and Transmission===
First off, let's congratulate to [[User:Calvy|Calvy]] for manning up and bringing the final push for '''[[PZwiki:Project Electricals and Transmission|Project Electricals and Transmission]]''' and everyone else for contributing! The next in line will probably be [[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]], good to have another project closed, pushing focus to other ones and opening room for potential new ones in the future!

[[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] was improving the new universal [[Template:Infobox item|item infobox]] as well as added the new [[Template:CodeBox|code box]] for the code sections, which can already be seen on some of the item pages, for example on [[Chipped Stone]] or [[Stone]], take a look around the wiki and expect more in the future!
===Project Build 41 Update===

'''[[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]]''' again saw much love, thanks from the combined effort of [[User:Angostura|Angostura]], some minor additions by [[User:Stabbyson|Stabbyson]], [[User:Absolute Lambda|Absolute Lambda]] updating missing items, [[User:Calvy|Calvy]]'s massive work, and [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] hard work elsewhere, as well as everyone else contributing anything minor – you all probably saw the new infoboxes, codeboxes, models, as well as version updates – it's hard to close it totally just yet, especially as it intertwine so closely with other projects, and side activities, but it is close enough to be taken out of the everlasting site notice, combined with inability to translate it reliably and taking some space, especially with the new skin improvements (more about it below). I may also be the one trying to push it forward in the coming weeks, probably taking it off [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]]'s shoulders (who's busy with [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]] and some template works, currently focused on adjusting new infoboxes and skins, which you probably noticed already), after our brief discussion for those following us on the official [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord] server.
[[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] wanted to test new extensions for translations too, but that requires radical changes, so will have to wait after being tested outside the live wiki.

As far as what we're going to focus next can mostly be tracked at [[PZwiki:Tasks]] – next steps for me, other than the usual, would be tiny additions to the main page following some feedback from the community and then probably finally focus on improving and updating item pages for [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update]].

===Project Locations and Maps===
===Project Locations and Maps===
Like mentioned before, [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]] saw the most love this month. Thanks to the '''outsanding''' work done by our long time contributor [[User:Ikip|Ikip]], we have almost all [[Template:Navbox businesses|businesses]] locations having a page and screenshot, as well as the new [[Template:Building multi location|Building multi location template]] to help with that. Also, [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]] swapped with [[User:Pohly|Pohly]] for the project leader role, but both were helping contributing for the project! Thank you a lot for all your hard work! Also, [[User:GeoG85|GeoG85]] did some minor edits while at it too!
It's hard not to mention '''[[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]]''' without a great dose of admiration how much dedication is being put into updating it, here's the summary from the project leader, [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]]!

===Project Vehicles and Mechanics===
<blockquote>
[[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]] was also helping fleshing out the [[PZwiki:Project Vehicles and Mechanics|Project Vehicles and Mechanics]] as of recently with some minor edits by [[User:BTlegit|BTlegit]] and minor fixes from [[User:Calcutt4|Calcutt4]], [[User:SuiGeneris|SuiGeneris]] and [[User:Honaaa|Honaaa]]. Let's see how far that will fare us in improving those pages!
Hi all, [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock]] here. While there were a few heated debates and some speed bumps along the way, January was a '''monster''' of a month for locations and maps! Here's a quick summary:

===Modding===
First off, I want to give an enormous thanks to [[User:Calvy|Calvy]] for willingly tackling [[Louisville]]. It's quite the juggernaut, but they've managed to not only make a table with all the businesses, but also began the arduous process of elaborating on all the businesses so they're no longer stubs! There will be some cleanups required as always, but it's a monumental effort for just one person to take on. '''Thank you so so much!'''
Modding saw some changes too, while minor, we had modder that was just mentioned in the [https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2023/09/mod-spotlight-tchernobill/ latest mod spotlight], [[User:Tchernobill|Tchernobill]] doing some contributions, but we also some contributions from [[User:Neznajka|Neznajka]], [[User:Melos tiles|Melos tiles]], [[User:Birget|Birget]] and [[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] adding missing language bars for some slightly neglected modding pages, thanks!

===New pages===
Our long-time contributor [[User:Ikip|Ikip]] categorized almost all of the location pages, and also helped out with some minor edits here and there. Thanks!
[[User:Agnosturra|Agnosturra]] added most of the missing food items and improved the rest with some minor fixes from [[User:ScenicCarnage|ScenicCarnage]], while [[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] was noting some missing junk items too, thanks! Other than that, [[User:Stock|Stock]] added pages for [[Barrel Dogs Leather Jacket]], [[Iron Rodent Leather Jacket]] and [[Wild Raccoons Leather Jacket]] (feel free to add and improve to them!), [[User:Cryptic|Cryptic]] created a stub for [[Staples]] and [[User:Zimon3283|Zimon3283]] created a nice page for [[Metal Drum]] added in [[Build 41]]!

===Minor fixes===
We also had some minor edits and small contributions from the following users:
Let's also not forget the minor, but important fixes by some odd contributors here and there! In semi-chronological order:
*[[User:Slightsmile|Slightsmile]] uploading some images and helping out with some [[March Ridge]] articles,
*[[User:Carina|Carina]] returning with the fixes for [[Wooden Wall]] and [[Metal Wall]],

*[[User:NiskelisPhilli|NiskelisPhilli]] mentioned cooking traits description being wrong,
*[[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]] and [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] mediating some heated debates, and

*[[User:LethalCitizen|LethalCitizen]] brainstorming and overall helping out ideas in the Discord.

*[[User:Hiimray|Hiimray]] contributing useful stuff for [[Exercise]] page,
*[[User:Thirteen Fish|Thirteen Fish]] fixing mentioning [[Canned Vegetable Soup]] being able to be used as [[recipe ingredient]],

*[[User:Fazbeus|Fazbeus]] contributing some minor fixes as always (thanks!),
*[[User:PhantomNiqht|PhantomNiqht]] updating [[Bulletproof Vest]] page,
*[[User:IAmACorpse|IAmACorpse]] adding fix to [[Cigarette]] pages and contributing some info to be eventually included,
*[[User:Meganimus|Meganimus]] adding some fixes,
*[[User:Friedmandesigns|Friedmandesigns]] contributing some various fixes too,
*[[User:Cryptic|Cryptic]] did contribute some fixes, beside creating a new page,
*[[User:Temtuim|Temtuim]] adding a fix,
*[[User:Joesi|Joesi]] contributing some fixes,
*[[User:Mikazenaf|Mikazenaf]] adding one image,
and one more user doing some fixes too.

For some reason, [[Keytar]] page saw some changes by [[User:Bagelcheesyballs|Bagelcheesyballs]], [[User:Zomboid|Zomboid]], [[User:Meganimus|Meganimus]] and [[User:Rayiscool|Rayiscool]] related to its usefullness about tree damage, though the tree damage on weapon page could use some standarizing.
Thanks everyone!

You can also always take a look at all the contributors in [[Special:ActiveUsers]] from the past 30 days if you wish so!
I personally completed my project of finishing all the spawn towns, managing to get all of both [[Muldraugh]] and [[West Point]] done this month. (Late nights galore!) I also restructured the project page a bit.

===Languages===
As for the plan for the future, with Ikip categorizing all the locations themselves and Calvy tackling most of Louisville, I'll be free to do some collaboration with the folks at [[PZWiki:Project Navigation and Categories]] to categorize all the images and business logos that were missed by the bots.
Not that much happened when it comes to internationalization, but we saw some edits from languages that didn't saw much edits lately including Italian and French, thanks! Sadly no new translations for sidebar and main page, but everything counts!

====Chinese Simplified====
After that, It'll be on to the minor towns of March Ridge and Valley Station, and then off to Louisville for some cleanups!
*[[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] (helping in other areas of English wiki too!),
*[[User:KcFuture|KcFuture]],
*[[User:Azsx3241001|Azsx3241001]].

====Chinese Traditional====
However, once that's done, I'll be steering the project more towards challenge maps, site maintenance, and minor tasks until build 42 arrives with the new towns we all desperately want. It will be updated on the job board once I have all the ideas and tasks worked out.
*[[User:Aicegs|Aicegs]].

====French====
That's just me though, feel free to use the project's talk page or the Discord to discuss ideas! See you all next week!
*[[User:Chubakca|Chubakca]].

====Italian====
(''please help it's 2:48AM right now and I have work at 7AM, I haven't even slept and I'm on for a 10 hour shift please help'')
*[[UserKevinITA|KevinITA]],
</blockquote>
*and [[User:Cebar|Cebar]] translating a page, though technically it was a new month. ;)
Hopefully ThinkDock will be able to get some rest though, especially we're on the right track starting a collaboration with [[User:Blindcoder|Blindcoder]] to bring updates to POIs on the epic official map up to date with the ones done in the wiki – we'll start with making the [[Project Zomboid Map Project]] page updated and more visible, so more people can contribute to both the wiki and map project, which will be more than important after [[build 42]] which is tentatively scheduled for the hopefully first half of this year in IWBUMS, which seems quite soon™.

====Spanish====
Also, while minor, thanks to [[User:Missold|Missold]] for contributing description for [[Dentistry]], [[User:Perfk|Perfk]] for contributing one missing location for [[Wrecking yard]], [[User:Chomasyean8|Chomasyean8]] contributing some bits [[Louisville border camp]], and [[User:Insp175|Insp175]] for adding note for the [[Kentucky State Prison]] page – those bits help too, thank you!
*[[User:DixerTheFurrySurvivorFox|DixerTheFurrySurvivorFox]],
*[[User:Maca|Maca]],
*[[User:Kyswokiyu|Kyswokiyu]] (also contributing a fix for English),
*[[User:Stevej|Stevej]],
*[[User:BlancoStarke|BlancoStarke]].

====Brazilian Portugese====
===Project Modding===
*[[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] doing great job in English part of the wiki too, being mentioned before.
'''[[PZwiki:Project Modding|Project Modding]]''' sadly continues to be a tad neglected and most likely won't see a big push/update and stay open way past [[build 42]] (which will surely bring a lot of modding updates!), though it's understandable most of the editors want to focus on adding content and modders do their job, but there were some minor additions nevertheless:
We also some discussion on Reddit from Brazilian folks too, so maybe we'll see more hands to help here. :)
*[[User:ChuckleberryFinn|ChuckleberryFinn]] improving [[How to make a clothing mod]] page.
*[[User:STIMP TM|STIMP TM]] adding new entry to [[List of Tiledefs in use by mods]].
*[[User:Glytch3r|Glytch3r]] adding even more entries to the page above.
*[[User:Neznajka|Neznajka]] contributing as always, this time making a dedicated page for translations.
As always, thank you even for the tiniest contributions!

====Russian====
===Project Navigation and Categories===
*[[User:SowaSova|SowaSova]],
'''[[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]]''' finally saw the amount of work needed this time, thanks to the hard work of [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] – while not yet finished, we expect it being finished soon. There's a brief summary of the works from [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]].
*[[User:Neitrin0|Neitrin0]],
*[[User:ВЛАДИЧКА|ВЛАДИЧКА]] adding <nowiki>{{DISPLAYTITLE}}</nowiki> to [[Main Page/ru|Russian main page]] – something that prompted me to take a look at [[PZwiki:Tasks#Medium priority|adding in other pages]], since it apparently shows as a browser title, thanks!

===Shoutout to Independent Fallout Wiki===
<blockquote>
[[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]] from [https://fallout.wiki/ Independent Fallout Wiki] have [[User talk:Faalagorn#Hello from the Indie Fallout Wiki!|reached to me]] about coopration with Independent Fallout Wiki! While PZwiki is not at the same shoes as we don't have to compete with other wikis and we have a lot of support from the lovely [[The Indie Stone]] team, from providing us advertisement free hosting and giving actual help, it'd be great to be in a good term with another gaming wiki having the same aim, so if you are a Fallout fan, feel free to message [[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]] or straight up help them with some spare edits, especially if you are a Fallout fan! So far we didn't talk much with Kate Aces, but I'm open to both of us helpings each after all, so let's see what future brings!
'''Categories'''

And that would be it for this month. Not so lazy month after all; thank you everyone for keeping the wiki fresh and alive and see you next month!
The category project has finally received some major progress. We have the category tree mostly completed and have implemented almost every category, with just some items left. The big ones left are "Equipment/Tools", "Materials" and "Clothing". As part of this project, we're also adding the new Template:Header/sandbox2|header and [[Template:Page version|page version]] templates.

==August 2023==
We've added "show/hide" to the navbox, making it easier to know how to expand it, for inexperienced readers (also autotranslates). Body location template for clothing is now smaller and removed borders/headers from table.

|Text = It's a last Sunday of the month, so time for another monthly recap! August was less active when it comes to tackling main projects, but we got a lot of works, including new contributors!

===The Knox Event in Real Time finished===
===Project Seat Yourself Furniture===
With the [https://twitter.com/TheKnoxEvent The Knox Event in Real Time] officially concluded, a site notice has changed to the usual [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] (which saw minor updates, but is still [[PZwiki:Tasks|planned]] to be finished, hopefully before [[Build 42]]).
'''[[PZwiki:Project Seat Yourself Furniture|Project Seat Yourself Furniture]]''' sadly didn't see contributions – I still want to get back to it eventually, but due to time constrains, I already mentioned it on Discord briefly, so if anyone want to take leadership here, let me know! I'll gladly help with starting things up adding and updating the tiles!

However, that allowed the [[Knox Event]] to be fully updated with the new info, thanks to contributions from the [[User:Cinderous|Cinderous]], [[User:Susceptance|Susceptance]] and [[User:ThatLeaf|ThatLeaf]] and some cleaning up. Make sure to check it if you want to see a detailed breakdown on how [[Knox Infection]] happened (mind the spoilers, though!).

===Refreshed help pages===
All existing [[Help:Contents|editing help]] pages were checked and refreshed this month, which should allow for better and easier editing! Some duplicate pages were removed, instead pointing to the great documentation on [[mw:MediaWiki|MediaWiki help pages]] (that are translated to multiple languages!), while more PZwiki-exclusive info being added with the long overdue [[Help:Tables]] having info about the usage of [[Help:Tables#PZwiki tables classes|PZwiki tables classes]].

[[Help:Style guide|Style guide]] was updated, including the new [[Help:Style guide#Preferred code style|Preferred code style]] section for those more technical-minded folks (like [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] who's helping a lot, thanks!) and some further information, so be sure to check it out!

The [[Help:Translations|translation help]] page was added, to aid more and more translators the wiki have as well (more about this below).
===Project Spiffo's Construction Crew===

'''[[PZwiki:Project Spiffo's Construction Crew|Project Spiffo's Construction Crew]]''' saw some great work by [[User:Calvy|Calvy]] – Calvy is busy with other tasks, but depending on [[User:HakunaWhiskey|HakunaWhiskey]] plans, we might push it forwards to close before [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] officially closes, as it seems to be much doable, we'll see!
Finally, the [[Help:Contents|help contents]] page and all the pages saw navigation and layout updates too, so they are more concise and hopefully everything is easier to find than ever! There were also some minor updates to the sidebar, projects and properly including the [[Help:How to help|former things to do]] page!

===Project Locations and Maps===
This month, [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps|Project Locations and Maps]] saw the most attention from the existing projects, with great contributors from [[User:ThinkDock1721|ThinkDock1721]], but also some minor contributions from [[User:IndiePz1027|IndiePz1027]], [[User:Survivor27!|Survivor27!]], [[User:Theoneofmyth654|Theoneofmyth654]] and [[User:XelaThing|XelaThing]], thanks!

===Project Translations===
===Project Translations===
With a lot of folks from around the world, the [[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]] is always seeing some updates, but before listing regular translators, let me thank from the great support of [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] who is consistently doing great work editing and fixing not only the Simplified Chinese pages, but also stretching to the English pages. He's the one helping with various templates too, including the help pages clean-ups and style guide ideas, thanks!
And finally, '''[[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]]''' – big behemoth to coordinate, [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] is waiting for the translation extension bundle to be tested by [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]], no solid ETA though, so we'll see, as the whole project may need reworks, so it's better wait with major changes. However, there's been some new translators popping and a lot of work done. Let me summarize

We also had great recent additions from [[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] who not only helped with recognizing and improving [[:Category:pt-br|Brazilian Portuguese]] pages out of the [[:Category:pt|regular Portuguese]] pages which should finally be settled after the recent split up, but also helped by providing fixed to usual English pages and adding a new template for Project Translations, thank you for the hard work!

Now let's summarize all the languages other than English now (in alphabetic order):
====Afrikaans====
So far it's [[User:TungstenX|TungstenX]] translating some pages at the beginning of the month, but hopefully they will return for more!

====Simplified Chinese====
====Simplified Chinese====
[[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] was adding translations for templates and help pages, and improving existing pages as well [[User:Azsx3241001|Azsx3241001]] helping with one page, thank you!
*[[User:KcFuture|KcFuture]] continuing to contribute some translations.
*[[User:Obiwan|Obiwan]] joining to contribute a lot of new translation, utilizing the existing templates in place.
*[[User:Auncer|Auncer]] contributing some fixes for [[Knox Event/zh-hans]] page.

====Traditional Chinese====
====Traditional Chinese====
While Traditional Chinese didn't see much updates lately, it seems that [[User:Aicegs|Aicegs]] and [[User:Fishyang|Fishyang]] did some work on Traditional Chinese pages as well, improving some things after the name migration, nice!
A little less up to date than the Simplified one, it also saw updates thanks to the [[User:A41133tw|A41133tw]] adding solid translation throughout the month, thank you!

====Japanese====
====French====
While Japanese does have some translations, most are outdated, but this month both [[User:Halkaze|Halkaze]] and [[User:Tsunpi|Tsunpi]] made some minor work, thank you! Additionally, thanks to an addition of the Japanese version of [[Frequently Asked Questions]] to the [[Main Page/ja]], I also added it to the English [[Main Page|main page]] for it to hopefully see more attention. It might be outdated, but if so, it's only best to make it up to date, and not bury it totally!
French saw much love this month, thanks to two great contributors, [[User:Quentinlamamy|Quentinlamamy]] and [[User:Dietrich|Dietrich]], thanks!

====Brazilian Portuguese====
====German====
All thanks to the great work [[User:Sarah52|Sarah52]] (continuing on some initial work of Cau and folks from the Brazilian Portuguese translation team), Brazilian Portuguese saw '''lots''' of updates recently.
German didn't see much translation this month, but thanks to [[User:Edgarogg|Edgarogg]] [[Muldraugh/de]] is now translated, thanks!

Firstly, both the [[Help:Translations#Main page translations|main page]] and the [[Help:Translations#Sidebar translations|sidebar]] were translates and are up to date!
====Korean====
[[User:Atlas7|Atlas7]] mentioned on their talk page, that they are awaiting a child and taking a break from translations – first of all '''congratulations'''! It's understandable taking the break and thank you for announcing it, too!

Secondly, all the remaining [[:Category:pt-br|Brazilian Portuguese]] pages out of the [[:Category:pt|regular Portuguese]] were moved, as noted before.
====Polish====
Polish saw two new contributors joining and doing minor works, [[User:Matt Morgan|Matt Morgan]] and [[User:Jake Williams|Jake Williams]], thank you!

Thirdly, some templates were translated and finally, some pages saw some love too, including [[Containers/pt-br]] which must have been hard. Thanks for the hard work again!
====Brazilian Portugese====
Brazilian Portugese saw some useful translations thanks to [[User:Silocorb|Silocorb]]

====Russian====
====Russian====
Russian didn't see many contributions, but [[User:Артур Фрост|Артур Фрост]] and [[User:4apayev|4apayev]] did some minor works, thanks!
While [[User:Mark|Mark]] returned to some editing, they seems to only accidentially bring back the old revision of a page sand sadly not add anything else yet, but maybe in future we'll see more!

====Spanish====
====Spanish====
Spanish is in generally good shape (except some new additions such as [[Help:Translations#Main page translations|main page]] and the [[Help:Translations#Sidebar translations|sidebar]] translations, feel free to help!), but this month it's [[User:Maca|Maca]] doing all the work this month!
Spanish saw three contributors adding various translation, [[User:Valiko2023|Valiko2023]] who joined us some time ago, but mostly [[User:Kesosdev|Kesosdev]] doing much work this month as well as [[User:ANGIELTOR|ANGIELTOR]] translating [[Nutrition/es]].

====Thai====
====Turkish====
Finally, Thai saw the translated sidebar thanks to looknai and [[User:RikoPrushka|Riko Prushka]] from [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord], thanks!
Turkish seems really healthy thanks to the epic work done and continue to be done by [[User:Ksilem|Ksilem]], but also [[User:Mabik|Mabik]] and [[User:Counterr90|Counterr90]] contributing, great work guys!

===Modding===
====Ukrainian====
Modding pages are unfortunately a bit on a back burner, but we got some contributions to that field too, all thanks to the work of [[User:Filzball|Filzball]], [[User:Glytch3r|Glytch3r]], [[User:Neznajka|Neznajka]] and [[User:Wagnarok|Wagnarok]] this month, thank you!
Ukrainian saw some new work too, by a long-stanging [[User:NeGat1FF|NeGat1FF]], but also newly-joined [[User:Bayon558|Bayon558]] as well as [[User:Astrelsba|Astrelsba]], though accidentially putting it on the wrong page (though let's home that won't be deterring!).

===Minor additions and fixes===
And lastly, from the community updates, let's mention some minor, but still worthy contributions!

First of all, let's all thanks [[User:Angostura|Angostura]] for their great work on adding some food pages that are up for standard! We still have things to do such as improval of infoboxes (more on that below) and boilerplates, but new pages that are quality, are always welcome, thanks!
I also updated some of the main pages, you can see the progress for remaining ones on [[PZwiki:Project Translations|Project Translations]] under each language headers (click them to see), at the moment of writing only 5 languages not being updated to the new format and some still requiring translations, but all are marked accordingly.

Other than that, there were some minor additions too:
There was also some changes fore the [[MediaWiki:Tooltip-n-discord|Discord tooltip]], following the re-addition of Discord to sidebar as it's no longer present in the site notice, so you may want to check your translations there!
*[[User:Hiimray|Hiimray]] doing some additions, including adding the quite handy [[Exercise#Summary|exercise summary table]] (it needs checking and filling, but it's looking great!).
*[[User:Dakenho|Dakenho]] did some additions to the [[Fire]] page.
*[[User:Undefined|Undefined]] added some minor info to [[Logs Stack]] page.
*[[User:Eclasto|Eclasto]] added some reference links for what likely inspired [[Quagga Cakes]] and [[Choco Cakes]].
*[[User:PerleLacEst|PerleLacEst]] added code block in [[Padlock]] page.
*[[User:Littlegreenrock|Littlegreenrock]] added some info to the skill pages.
*[[User:Goder5555|Goder5555]] did some minor additions to [[Trapping]], [[Vehicles]] and [[Notched Wooden Plank]].
as well as [[User:DeadCell|DeadCell]] adding a basic [[Poncho]] page (that needs to improved; feel free to do so!) and [[User:Slamjam9|Slamjam9]] prompting to creation of the [[Gas pump]] page (thanks [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]]!), so I guess it counts?

There were also some fixes:
===Other important works===
*[[User:Darkonion5|Darkonion5]] with minor firearm value fixes.
You all probably noticed a new skin when logged out, as we changed the default to [[mw:Skin:Vector/2022|2022 variant of the old Vector skin]], as this is the skin we'll focus the most with improvements. You can still change to any of older skins including Vector legacy (2010) in [[Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering-skin|Preferences]] if you like the old one, but expect some changes in the nearest feature, especially the background one, as we're preparing to move to the new header.
*[[User:Lcrichusa5|Lcrichusa5]] fixing [[nutrition]] (weight) value thresholds.
*[[User:Orangecryptid|Orangecryptid]] added chopping tree for weight loss.
*[[User:Sulphur|Sulphur]] fixing typo in animal catch formula in [[Trapping]].
*[[User:Survived Enough|Survived Enough]] fixing weight for [[Roasting Pan]].

And tiny typo fixes by [[User:Driftaloft|Driftaloft]], [[User:Fazbeus|Fazbeus]], [[User:GAS2GOPROTECTER|GAS2GOPROTECTER]], [[User:Jorise|Jorise]] and [[User:Will|Will]] – while small, they all count, thanks!
We've also added the [[PZwiki:Rules#Wiki spirit|Wiki spirit]] section to the rules page, as we had some minor disagreements, but it seems to be all solved thankfully, but it's great to remember what the wiki is about, coopration on bringing something great together!

===Admin work===
I also updated the [[PZwiki:Administrators|Administrators]] page to list both me and Vaileasys as equal, so do contact us if you have any question / problem to solve first, [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] being mostly for the technical side. If you encounter any problem on Discord, especially the one we can't solve there or when we're not around, do contact the Spiffo bot to get through our awesome moderators there, they prove to be helpful if things arise!
Finally, while not as epic as previous work, there's been some other works done by [[Pzwiki:Administrators|Administrators]].
*Other than improving the help pages and patrolling each change, I did some improvements to occupation icons and first time utilizing [[User:FaalagornBot|a bot]], though I still find some issues with it.
*[[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] is back on track with revamped [[:Template:Infobox item]], for hopefully easier additions of new items as well as [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories|Project Navigation and Categories]], some of which was teased on Discord. He also finally revamped the [[Medicinal Plants]], [[Wild Plants]] and [[Wild Herbs]] pages to follow the new [[Foraging]] categories, with more to come!
*[[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]] is also helping with the categories by installing [[mw:Extension:CategoryTree|CategoryTree extension]]. He also fixed an issue with active users, so now it should display more correctly, by being updated each month so <nowiki>{{NUMBEROFACTIVEUSERS}}</nowiki> should work, including in pages it's shown, such as in [[Special:CreateAccount]] page (and it's currently {{NUMBEROFACTIVEUSERS}}, thanks!).

====What's next====
One of the important new pages, you may have not noticed that was deeply researched is the [[Easter eggs]] – there's been also some updates to the [[The Indie Stone]], thanks to the awesome works done by [[User:LethalCitizen|LethalCitizen]], but also help from people around Discord, including [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]], [[User:Angostura|Angostura]] and [[User:Calvy|Calvy]], so '''make sure to check the [[Easter eggs]]'''  page up, it's also linked on the main page.
While the focus is still geared toward what's outlined in the up-to-date [[PZwiki:Tasks|wiki tasks]] page, expect continuing work from the existing projects. Maybe finally with the new infoboxes and categories more items will be added and updated en masse (although small fixes and additions will hopefully be there before). There might be some minor continuous additions and fixes to the main page, and I will also probably continue on tackling some minor things from [[PZwiki:Tasks|wiki tasks]], including image deduplication, optimization and categorization, but time will tell!

Until then, see you next month!
Also, [[User:Darkonion5|Darkonion5]] created the new [[Foraging items]] page, originally on their talk page, it seems nice for [[foraging]] that we will see some cleanups following the hopefully soon™ skill page updates.

The here's the summary of other stuff from Vaileasys:
}}
<blockquote>
'''Infoboxes'''

==July 2023==
For a while I've been working on consolidating all the item infoboxes, as it was confusing for editors to know which infobox to use, and a pain to maintain/update each time a new version of the game was released that changed and added something, but was shelved in September 2023.
{{Wiki news
|Title = Wiki news
|Date = {{#dateformat:2023-07-30|dmy}}
|Text = So here I am, writing a third monthly summary, filling the main page with three month streak! July was surprisingly active, so let's get to summarizing it!

===The Knox Event===
Early this year, [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] created a new infobox metatemplate suite, which improves the previous process of creating an infobox, along with changes to the styling which compliments other stylistic changes we've been making, and collapsible sections. The biggest feature though, is the ability to click on the icon and display the associated model for the variant.
As you probably noticed, the site notice changed from the usual one, promoting the [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update]] (which is not yet finished, so feel free to help!) to [https://twitter.com/TheKnoxEvent The Knox Event] Twitter (or should I say '''𝕏''', gotta change the icon soon I guess). For the whole July amazing [[The Indie Stone]] developer, Pat Bren tweeted what happend exaclly 30 years ago in the game world. It will stay for a week or so at least, so people can read through it. A summary is also available on [[Knox Event]] page here, feel free to contribute if anything's missing!

===I18n===
Many infoboxes (not just items) have already been changed to this new one, however there's still quite a few to go, along with adding the model variants to the infobox. I'll also be working on more infoboxes, such as tiles/furniture, moodles, traits, skills, and any others we may have a need for.
Most of the work turned out to be focused mostly on [[PZwiki:Project Translations]], as we've got quite a lot folks coming with translations!

====New languages====
The [[Template:Infobox item|item infobox]] isn't ready to be translated yet, but I'm working on that on its [[Template:Infobox item/sandbox|sandbox]]. Any of the infoboxes that are ready to translate, will have the Translation guide section on it (same goes for any templates).
First of all, we now have added [[Main Page/tr|Turkish]] with quite a lot translations thanks to the [[User:Texaliuz|Texaliuz]]! There was also some splitting done, starting with the [[Main Page/pt|Portugese]] creating [[Main Page/pt-br]] to match separate language available in the game, thanks to the Cau on [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord] who picked the pt-br pages! There still could be some mislabeled pages, so take a look at any [[:Category:pt|Portugese]] and [[:Category:pt-br|Brazilian Portugese]] pages and feel free to corrent, move or take a note here on in Discord, so they can be taken care of!
</blockquote>

Another big change is having zh and zh-cn changed to [[Main Page/zh-hans|zh-hans]] and [[Main Page/zh-hant|zh-hant]] respectively, as that's the proper name used both in MediaWiki and in-game. Some pages in zh, that were supposed to be Traditional Chinese were in fact simplified, and those have been moved thanks to [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]]. However, similar to Brazilian Portugese, if you spot any errors in [[:Category:zh-hans|Simplified Chinese]] and [[:Category:zh-hant|Traditional Chinese]] or pages still using zh or zh-cn, feel free to report! I also had to fiddle around with namings, so you can still find some references to uppercase Hans and Hant, those should be moved too.
====Minor fixes====
As always, here's a list of contributors doing minor fixes, that accumulate to our bigger project, thanks!
*[[User:Valiko2023|Valiko2023]] aside contributing Spanish translation, contributed minor fixes for [[How to Use Generators]] page.
*[[User:ViveeFox|ViveeFox]] fixes to [[Lipstick]] and fixing one wrong bed quality.

*[[User:ARG|ARG]] added references/clarifications to [[Foraging]] and [[Fishing]].

*[[User:BrBryan07|BrBryan07]] fixing a spelling in [[Campfire]] page.

Hopefully no one is missed, and make sure to check [[Special:ActiveUsers|Active users list]] for an up-to-date list of users being active in the last 30 days!

===New translations===
====Affiliates====
I've mentioned Turkish before, but this month we've seen a lot more of translation updates. Firstly, [[Main Page/cs|Czech Main Page]] and some templates finally got a translation thanks to the [[User:Flopflak|Flopflak]], while [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] has been doing awesome work translating and coordinating with [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] translating to simplified chinese! [[:Category:uk|Ukrainian]] got some love too, thanks to [[User:FreD|FreD]] and [[User:Texaliuz|Texaliuz]] helped with the [[:Category:es|Spanish]] translations! Very active on Discord [[User:SuperLisa|SuperLisa]] is helping with the long-negled translations of [[Main Page/nl|Dutch main page]], but not only, thanks! I also updated some [[:Category:pl|Polish]] ones while at it. Thank you everyone contributing, including those not mentioned!
Still currently with one but stable affiliate, the [https://fallout.wiki/ Independent Fallout Wiki] celebrates it's first anniversary, here's the warm words from [[User:Kate Aces|Kate Aces]], administrator of the [https://fallout.wiki/ Independent Fallout Wiki].

====New tools====
<blockquote>
[[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] has been working on updating templates to support new languages, so that took (and is taking) some work, but hopefully pays off with easier translating. One of the new addition is, as you probably realized, category for each languages and option to count how many pages are there, assuming they are properly moved to the subpage of proper language, so if you spot a wrong page, feel free to point to it!
Hooray! We released our Annual Report and celebrated our 1 year anniversary! That is about all from us. Can't wait to see the new summary!
</blockquote>

====Sidebar translations====
If you are fancy from PZwiki editing break, and are in a Fallout mood, make sure to check them out!
Finally, we experimented with sidebar translations. I already translated some parts of it to Polish, but we've got Dutch and Simplified chinese thanks to [[User:SuperLisa|SuperLisa]] and [[User:Vibrance|Vibrance]] already, so stay tuned! The sidebar links will also automatically point you to the relevant translated pages according to the language chosen in [[Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal-i18n|the preferences]]!

===Categories===
====Future works====
A lot of work was given to categories too. [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]], as always, did a great job finally getting somewhere with categories, after some discussion, some vision for categories is already done with a first tease on Discord how it looks and two out of seven phases done in [[PZwiki:Project Navigation and Categories]]. It's a long and tiring process to have everything categorized properly, but hopefully will make editing and finding relevant info faster, easier and more structurized.
First, a note from [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]].
<blockquote>
'''Future'''

===Other works===
Going forward I'll mostly be continuing with infoboxes and categories. I also have a few plans for new/updated templates, such as:
While i18n and categorizing takes most of the time (and spotlight), there was a lot of work being put in other places too, so let's quickly summarize it at all!

*Finally old infoboxes are gone now! No more pixelated looks on non-English pages. [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] works on a new infobox though, so stay tuned and see progress on the [[PZwiki:Tasks#High priority|Tasks]] page (freshly renamed from Issues, as that names was less fitting).
*transcripts template
*While at it, we also cleared unused [[PZwiki:Community projects|Community projects]] – let the work focus on the ones we have now!
*[[Template:EvolvedRecipesForItem]]
*I also cleared some [[:Category:User templates|User templates]], but with more to come!
*[[Template:Fixing condition]]/[[Template:Fixing weapon]]
*[[User:Alluseri|Alluseri]], the awesome script guy helped us manually reverting changes with wrong <code>days_rotten</code> in infobox, that was huge!
*Further minor cleanups of the [[Main Page]] – and more will come!
*Some item models being updated, there's less and less items without one on a wiki now, some got better angles and bigger models having uploaded, too!
*Some icon optimization and removal of duplicated ones – not much, but some pages will load slightly faster and there will be less confusion about duplicated icons and names hopefully!
*[[User:Kenji 03|Kenji 03]] and [[User:Fuberti|Fuberti]] doing some regular English edits, so that counts! And a lot of other people helping in recent changes, even one typo spotted counts, keep them comming!

===Patrolling changes===
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Finally, it doesn't change anything, Wiki is still open for contributors, but, since I was doing that already, I decided to do it proper and utilize MediaWiki's [[mw:Help:Patrolling|patrolling]] feature. It's a feature only for admins, but I marked everything from July as patrolled, that way it helps me and other admin see if the change was actually looked over, so hopefully we should have a better wiki, preventing accidentional mistakes that happen from time to time, as I will spot them!

I originally wanted to revise [[Help:Contents]] properly, with more style guide, translation and item names addition, as well as merging and updating pages so they are easier to find, but that will have to wait for some other weekend I guess, hopefully soon™!
Some work also needs to be done to reduce the width of some tables, which will increase the use of icons in the heading, along with a guide to the meaning of the icons, which will be especially helpful for mobiles users that can't see the tooltips.

Phew, that's it for this month, I probably forgot a lot, so sorry for that. If you need to contact me and add something, do contact me on Discord or any other way! Until next time!
If time permits, I'll also be taking a deep dive into the changes coming in [[build 42]], to hopefully be more prepared for its release.

As far as I go, I'll mostly be continuing patrolling changes and focus mostly on [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update|Project Build 41 Update]] from now on.
{{Wiki news

|Text = Welcome back to the sunny (at least around here) month of June. While it's hot outside where I live and sometimes hard to focus, a lot has been done in the wiki in June. Let's get to summarizing it!

===Two active admins are always better than one===
Till the next month! —[[User:Faalagorn|Faalagorn]][[User talk:Faalagorn|☎]]/[[Special:Contributions/Faalagorn|✓]] 15:50, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
Wiki is more lively than ever with not one but two very active admins! [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] went back to actively editing and dusting off most of the templates, so while might not seem so at the first glance for regular uses, a lot of the templates are in the better shape than before! Hopefully it'll stay so for a long while so we can both keep the wiki in a healthy shape. If you have any questions, you can ask us directly on talk pages or [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord], with Vaileasys being more up to date with most of the current templates we use today.

===Other returning users===
With no major updates to the game and lazy holiday months for some, there's probably not so much activity as it could be, but that didn't prevent some from editing and we saw some loose edits from [[User:Alluseri|Alluseri]], [[User:Carina|Carina]], [[User:Fuberti|Fuberti]], [[User:Kenji 03|Kenji 03]], [[User:Pohly|Pohly]] and others I might have missed, thanks!

===Main page changes===
That's probably the most visible change, although not as prominent as the previous redisigns, the main page has seen some minor tweaks. The quick links icons were updated to feature [[Spiffo]] now, a Twitch icon was added and social icons were updated to the lastest ones too (the size will probably be tweaked to be a little more visible though) and optimized for speed, so hopefully, especially mobile users should see minor improvement. Other than that, links were updated to sentence case ([[PZwiki:Style guide#Capitals|preferred as per style guide]]) and headers are now clickable, too. Some space was also saved, which again can help mobile users. A proper responsible theme is planned somewhere in the future, but that might require a lot of more work. Some minor code cleanups were made, nothing visible, but hopefully can make translating these pages easier.

[[Main Page/sandbox|Sandbox]], [[Main Page/pl|Polish]] and [[Main Page/uk|Ukrainian]] pages were already updated with the changes, but other pages will need to be updated too, I'll try to tackle that in the following weeks, but especially if you are a native speaker, feel free to do that yourself, especially as [[Main Page/de|German]], [[Main Page/nl|Dutch]] and [[Main Page/no|Norwegian]] still use an old template back from the 2010s. [[Main Page/cs|Czech]] page is now created too, but not translated, so feel free to do so if you can speak Czech!

===First finished project===
A small milestone, but let's open a bottle of finest Kentucky's [[Bourbon]] to celebrate a first officially closed project! Nothing big, but a dusted old [[PZwiki:Project Recipe Template and Distribution|Recipe Template and Distribution]] project is officially closed and marked as finished, as a first project to do so. Other projects might need some love, but [[PZwiki:Community projects|other projects]] hopefully will be closed eventually too, so the new ones could be made before [[Build 42]]! Thank you to any and all contributions!

===New model images and page updates===
A lot of new models were added, thanks to the constant work of [[User:Carina|Carina]] and [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] along with some pages being updated to the latest version ([[Build 41|41.78.16]] as of writing) and cleaned up. A small step to page being more up to date and hopfully interesting! A size of 200 pixels wide for models (ideally uploaded at 400 × 400 pixels, [[PZwiki:Style guide#File dimensions|as noted on the style guide]] and 128 pixels wide for scaled item images, but thanks to models being in-game the 128 pixels images are less and less used nowadays. :)

===Translation cleanups===
Some translations being outdated is a slow process; similar to the [[Main Page]] additions, some pages were moved, some had its infoboxes updated, but [[User:Vaileasys|Vaileasys]] did some great work on updating some language templates and general workflow. Feel free to help us in [[PZwiki:Project Translations|Translations]] project (you can start at choosing better colors, as I'm terrible at it ;)).

===Other changes and future work===
Other minor achievements usually tracked in [[PZwiki:Issues]] or my [[User:Faalagorn|page]] include:
*Removal of old Lua Event pages, with [[Lua Events]] being the current one, Modding: prefix is no longer being used, so if you have any scripts relying on it, please update it! [[Modding]] page still could use some love, too, with the redisign started by [[User:Aiteron|Aiteron]]
*Removal of any [[Special:BrokenRedirects|broken redirects]] and [[Special:DoubleRedirects|double redirects]]
*Probably other things I missed, or are too miniscule to mention, but keep an eye on [[PZwiki:Issues]] as I plan to rely my work toward reducing the number of issues there!

Until next time, hopefully next month will mark three months of being up to date with the wiki news!

|Text = Hello again! To brighten up PZwiki a little, after a brief discussion on the [https://discord.gg/theindiestone Discord], I decided to update this section each month with a monthly recap of what happened in PZwiki if time permits, hopefully every last weekend of the month. So, starting with May, what happened? Quite a few actually, though most changes were under the hood.
===Annonymous site statistics===
Thanks to the lovely website manager [[User:Kirrus|Kirrus]], some anonymous site visitors stats are available to be viewed using self-hosted Matomo Analytics, A Google Analytics alternative that is totally annonymous, but allows us to see most visited pages, devices being used and the like – this should allow driving more direction in the areas that needs the most attention, like most visited pages or tailor it better to the devices being used.
===Favicon===
Thanks to [[Marina Siu-Chong|Mash]], we now have a unique, nice-looking favicon! It should appear in most browsers, as well as in bookmarks or shortcuts, and being available in several sizes should be picked right for each device. Feel free to let us know if there's some issue on other devices, especially Apple ones, as there are sizes and icons that are unique to some devices, so if something comes up pixelated, we might consider adding something for it!
===Wiki manager===
Following the news from February, I ranked up higher to a wiki maintainer, this, among some other minor things, allows me to do some more under the hood changes, including changing some of the interface, which brings me to another point.
===New sidebar===
I cleaned up and revamped the sidebar a little, including adding a tooltip to each of the entries. This was followed by some renames briefly talked about on Discord too. Feel free to leave any comment on Discord or on my [[User talk:Faalagorn|talk page]] if you see any typos or want something changed.
===Cleaned up TODOs===
Along the improved sidebar comes also improved TODOlist, I refreshed [[PZwiki:Issues]] as well as [[PZwiki:Community projects]], basically moving what I had on my talk page and removing things that no longer apply. You can now watch the direction wiki goes better. While at it, I also cleaned up some of the [[Help:Contents]] and [[PZwiki:Style guide]] (where, after a brief discussion with TIS team thanks to Kirrus asking them directly whether US or UK writing style is preferred, a US preference comes first so sorry Spiffo!), though more changes, including writing up [[Help:Tables]] is still on the table (no pun intended!).
===Minor changes to the Main Page===
There were some minor changes to the news to the [[Main Page]], following the changes for sidebar and TODOs, mostly to the news sections. These are not yet carried to non-English Main Pages, though there might be some more changes coming, so stay tuned!
===RecipeLookup removal===
RecipeLookup template served its purpose since its introduction back in 2011 by then-wiki administrator [[User:DUMBELLS|DUMBELLS]] and saw a whooping over 600 edits, but since then became too large and outdated and was, after several experiments and tries, replaced with [[Template:Crafting/core]] by our another administrator [[User:Vaileasys]] who did lots of the groundwork for what we have now back in 2019. It was largely replaced for the English pages since, and then I slowly began finishing off what Vaileasys started and finally, after months or replacing it here and there, I went up and replaced it elsewhere, finishing it just today. This finally allowed me to remove the template and its surrounding ones. This allows to focus on future, especially as [[Build 42]] will totally overhaul crafting and remove some old item icons and template errors, as well as ease up maintaining what we have now. Nothing is without loss though, as unfortunately the new template wasn't translated to most languages yet and some pages such as non-English [[Crafting]] page suffered the most, so if you have time, you can help translate and add missing stuff to those pages based on the newest content!
Also, hopefully it won't be needed, but just in case, old versions of templates can be restored by any administrator, I also have a local copy of the Russian and Japanese crafting pages, as these were the largest, so feel free to contact me if you want to recreate the pages but want to look how they looked like before.
===Item models===
Thanks to [[User:Carina|Carina]], most items have models now! There'll be still some cleaning, but Carina did mention few times that if you want any model uploaded, you should ask her about it, so I guess don't hesitate to ask her about it on Discord!
===Other contributions===
We also saw some returning and new editors doing some minor cleanups as well as some updates for French and Russian pages. While this month was quite slow, a lot has happened since February anyway and slow updates are to be expected until the game gets a new update, which gives us time to focus on improving existing things!
===What's next===
For me first, I'll finish up cleaning and close [[PZwiki:Project Recipe Template and Distribution]] which will be a first project closed, clean up and remove duplicate images now that they're not needed, move some templates that use Crafting/core template directly, then move up on removing old navboxes and infoboxes and then follow a little more about categories, especially the non-English one to give a good base to work at. Then update some admin pages and ''hopefully'' go on full-on for updating everything to build 41 and closing [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update]] project! Till the next month!

|Text = This section was always a tad neglected, but after a few years of radio silence, it's time for some refresh!
===New administrator===
Kinda weird to introduce myself, but thanks to [[User:Kirrus]], I got admin rights [[Special:UserRights/Faalagorn|right at the beginning of Feburary]]. This allowed me to do some <s>Spring</s> cleaning to the Wiki.
===Wiki mainteneance===
Again, thanks to the [[User:Kirrus]], we had some new Wiki upgrades, including caching tweaks, new SyntaxHighlight plugin and some mainteneance upgrades.
===Nearest neighbour image scaling===
Separate 120 px / 128 px item icons are no longer needed! Thanks to the addition of a <code>class=pixelart</code> to [[MediaWiki:Common.css]] by [[User:Kirrus]], it can now be applied to icons which are now scaled using nearest neighbour and are no longer blurry, see [[User:Faalagorn/120 px test]] to see how it works. It took a while to update all templates and pages to not use the 120 / 128 px variants of icons, but it should work in all modern browsers and some older ones as well, without having to upload a separate version of the icon (unless you are stuck with IE6, though can you even browse anything at that point?). Currently it is applied only to images using <code>class=pixelart</code> and for galleries it can't be applied automatically, but maybe in future it could be applied globally for everything (since we mainly use pixel art anyway).
===Cleaning of old burden===
Aside of removing the 120 / 128 px icons, I also removed some old templates. There's still more to do (you can track progress on my [[User:Faalagorn#TODO]] page, especially for translations, so if you can, please upgrade the old pages to use the newest templates, especially the [[:Template:RecipeLookup]], [[:Category:Infobox deprecated]]. It also helps to add DISPLAYTITLE to translations as per [[PZwiki:Style guide#Translations]].
===New languages===
Ukrainian thanks to [[User:NeGat1FF]], Hungarian thanks to [[User:Gerizmo]] and Chinese Simplified (Mainland China) thanks to [[User:Dlm tamashii]] are all officially added to the wiki now! Feel free to translate to those or existing languages, or add your own!
===PZwiki projects updates===
Everyone welcome [[User:Pohly]] as the new manager of [[PZwiki:Project Locations and Maps]]! Also, some original projects by [[User:Vaileasys]] were updated in [[PZwiki:Community projects]]. The [[PZwiki:Project Build 41 Update]] is close to being finished too, hopefully to be settled before [[Build 42]] hits!
===Other works===
[[User:Aiteron]] did a lot of work with Modding recently, we also had a lot of contributors from the regional existing communities, including Russian by [[User:ВЛАДИЧКА]], Thai by [[User:‎Godofpleum007]] and a lot of work by others, including [[plumbing]] revamp by [[User:IN REM]] and loose edits by many unnamed contributors in [[Special:RecentChanges]]! Thanks a lot for any edit made!
===Future work===
For me, I'll keep on cleaning the old burden and eventually focus on upgrading everything to [[Build 41]], hopefully before [[Build 42]] hits IWBUMS. Some of the work I do can be tracked on my [[User:Faalagorn#TODO|user page]]. Until next time!

February 2024(3 March 2024)

Welcome again to the monthly summary! February is technically the shortest month in the year (less with the leap day this year), though with me writing the summary on each Sunday, I guess it's more dependent on the weeks' layout than the days alone. Anyway, this we got a lot to cover this month, so let's get into it!

This month started with some PZwiki awards cleanups, originally introduced by Connall as userboxes back in 2014 and slightly brought back in 2018, they were introduced as barnstars by Ikip late last year, but were to expansive for us, so instead of removing, I trimmed them down. There will be some more cleanups done later down the line, especially since they aren't used really widely, but since a few users seemed to at least get fond of them, I kept them, giving credit where it's due.

Next, thanks to nasKo we got new roles on Discord for wiki admins and wiki editors – the latter will be used to announce important messages and monthly summaries, so that's nice to have. We had some organizational/coordination updates too, more on that below.

Then, next main thing down the line was introduction of automated distribution template thanks to Calvy, carrying on the loose idea from Carina marked in PZwiki tasks page for a while. The script used also brought back a need of coordinated place on GitHub for those scripts – we might get a proper repository somewhere down the line, but right now they are being collected as a part of this list. They are slowly being updated on item pages.

Which bring us to another huge job Calvy was performing this month, utilizing CalvyBot to perform thousands of mundane tasks with clever regex scripts with Pywikibot, that brought us tons of minor fixes but also helping tremendously with both Project Navigation and Categories and removal of language bar lately (which is now replaced by a sidebar), as well as deploying new infoboxes…

…Which again, brings us yet another point, being the new infoboxes! By now, pretty much all the infoboxes are moved to the newer look and functionality, with the old ones being deprecated and removed soon™.

And another not-project-related work by Calvy is elaborating on Vaileasys idea of adding item tags – these will probably be especially useful on build 42 with the new crafting systems, but are starting to be useful right now!

And finally, before getting to the project summaries, we also had some organizational changes:

The Tasks got some cleanups too, some things moved to projects properly.

Project Build 41 Update

Following the leadership changes in Project Build 41 Update, I updated the job board and listed everythin that remains to be done. It's mostly a few missing items (some of which can be moved to build 42 project if they don't make it, as they only be spawned in debug mode and by admin in multiplayer, as well as bringing skills, items, recipes and tiles up to date, some of the tasks being shared with the Project Spiffo's Construction Crew and Project Seat Yourself Furniture, so some focus could shift there eventually.

Some items, mainly clothing, were split to separate pages too, following the new infobox, codebox and distribution deployments, to not host too much on one page. There will be a few more that will be split, some missing pages updated and afterwards the main focus will be updating the pages to 41.78.16 from Category:Version.

We also don't announce the project through the site notice now, as it's closer than ever to being finished!

Aside from that, we had some valuable contributions, too, thank you!

  • Stock creating Bowling Shoes page.
  • DevoTan adding some items and updating what's needed to be updated ammo pages.
  • Calvy helping with some pages in between too and adding missing models slowly.

Project Locations and Maps

The Project Locations and Maps is probably the most active one, sadly resulting in one contributor being blocked from editing because of some mishaps, but other than that it's getting healthy management of ThinkDock, including article rewrites and image categorization and contributions from other users.

Here's the summary from ThinkDock:

Hi all, ThinkDock here. While there were a few more heated debates and some speed bumps along the way, including an unfortunate loss of a contributor, January was a great month for locations and maps! Here's a quick summary:

Unfortunately, I am sad to announce that our long-time contributor Ikip was banned. His contributions were greatly appreciated, and will live on in the reworks and templates that we continue to use.

Calvy Finished up the rest of the first pass of Louisville, so now all that needs to be done is formatting and other cleanups. However, he has mostly been busy with clothing and other items. That doesn't mean he hasn't knocked it completely out of the park with brainstorming, though! Thanks for all your help!

Ksilem Also helped out by reworking the Laundromat page, as well as adding on to various pages, including some Doe Valley and Fallas Lake works. This will make it a lot easier to complete these towns faster. They also did lots of brainstorming in the Discord. Thanks!

Vaileasys and Faalagorn helped with some brainstorming as well, mainly with figuring out what categories will be relevant for the project and which ones we have and don't have. Thanks, it's great to have admin support!

I also got moderator privileges on the Map Project (Thanks blindcoder!) so I will be adding more and more POIs on there as my time frees up. I also added the site maintenance task on the job board, so if you want to help out with behind the scenes stuff as well, feel free to, as now I have a documented list available.

See y'all next month!

Other than that, there were two more old-time contributors helping us as well, as well as one newcomer fixing location coordinates, those help too!

I also helped with some image miscategorization lately, which should help the Project Navigation and Categories too!

Project Modding

Like I mentioned before, the Project Modding project didn't get much attention sadly. It's currently looking for new ownership, so if you think you are up for the task of managing it, let us know either here on the wiki or on the Discord.

It did see a contribution to the active list of Tiledefs in use by mods page by Glytch3r this month, thanks!

Project Navigation and Categories

The Project Navigation and Categories saw probably the most attention this month, the layout was finally pretty much finalized, with the only remaining ones being clothing (and unrelated Template:Body location changes), and materials intricacies when it comes to the item and some cleanups to other categories which will be narrowed down the line, possibly by other projects. Here's the summary from the project leader, Vaileasys:

We've had a lot of progress with the project this month, largely thanks to Calvy and the use of his bot swapping the header and updating categories. This month we've completed:

Other than some minor adjustments, the last major category left is Category:Clothing, which has been put on hold temporarily until we finalise the layout.

There was some categorization decisions related to Project Locations and Maps.

Project Seat Yourself Furniture

As expected not much moved in the Project Seat Yourself Furniture yet, but it got some minor job progress mainly thanks to the rapid progress in the Project Spiffo's Construction Crew and some in the Project Build 41 Update. Hopefully after both of them will be reaching mature stage, this project will get back to spotlight again!

Project Spiffo's Construction Crew

A lot has happened for the Project Spiffo's Construction Crew, it's yet far from being finished, especially as it all correlates with different projects and side projects, but it's catching speed real quick. Let me get the summary from the current project leader, Calvy:

G'day editors. It's been a good month over in SCC land. After finishing Project Electricals and Transmission I took up the role of leader from HakunaWhiskey, who I'd like to thank for their work on the project before me.

By contributor count, we're the smallest project (besides the on hold modding project), and it was clear that construction had been neglected for quite some time. Due to this, a large portion of this month has been dedicated to getting a good framework to build off of, including a full overhaul of the job board. So far the completed work this month includes;

I'd like to thank both Vaileasys and Faalagorn for their help across the project, and coordination with their respective projects to standardise articles. As well as;

For the coming month we'll be focusing on articles themselves, we still have missing articles from B41s release, and a large list of articles to update and improve.

Overall a really good start to the project, and looking forward there's a lot of work left to go, but I have no doubts that we can get it done.

Thanks, Calvy.

It would be nice to thanks ThreeLime doing some meaningful contributions to the somewhat-neglected-yet-popular carpentry page!

Project Translations

The Project Translations didn't see a huge changes with Vibrance waiting Kirrus to let us test the Translate extension before evaluating it being deployed, to hopefully make keeping translations up to date easier, but it might take some time. It also made Ksilem focus more on helping with English pages, including the ones from Project Locations and Maps which is important task for a healthy basis for other translators!

Anyway, that doesn't mean there wasn't any strides being done – the {{Languages}} template is finally being retired in favor of the sidebar, done by Calvy's bot and I'll finally get myself to update the remaining 7 main pages to the new format, to retire the old templates. We're also slowly moving away from the translation database from {{Translate}} and {{T}} in favor for {{ll}} and retiring {{Sp}} in favor of {{lcs}} template.

As far as specific translations though, we saw some activity as usual, thank you everyone!

Traditional Chinese

  • A41133tw contributing some translations as usual this month, nice!

Simplified Chinese

Czech

  • NyaCZ joining and adding some Czech translations – some templates usage had to be corrected, but it's understandable, as they are confused sometimes.

French

German

Brazilian Portugese

Russian

Spanish

As well as Teromax34 coming back from a break, so hopefully we'll see more, Spanish being one of the most healthy languages supported on the wiki!

Turkish

Other important works

I summarized all the most important works above, this time, but let the Vaileasys summarize his work below:

Outside of the category project, most of my time this month has been spent on adding/improving infoboxes and misc work on various other templates.

The bigger changes are:

Infoboxes:

Other templates:

  • Navbox skills: added translatability.
  • Transcript: template to consistently format transcripts.
  • Mood: used to calculate the in-game moodle effect from values in game files.
  • Experience: added calculations for values in media files.
  • Tag link: template to simplify adding links to item tags.

As a side project I've been developing a parser for the scripts files, along with complimentary scripts. The purpose of this is for the item list and simplify updating values elsewhere, such as tables on on the weapons page.

Minor fixes

With that done, let's get directly into all the little but important fixes:

As always, you can also see the active users list page for the last 30 days.

I think I forgot to mention all the prior contributions of the long-standing user LethalCitizen, being focused on Easter eggs, but Lethal also helped improve the page for The Indie Stone, and creating the Formosa Interactive, General Arcade, The Eccentric Ape, and Tanglewood Games! Thanks a lot for all the contributions!

Also Calvy again helped us fixing some of the Spiffo and Discord page, thanks!

Affiliates

Nothing much changed here, but the Independent Fallout Wiki is being healthy as always, and so are we. Here's a short note from Kate Aces, an admin of the Fallout Wiki:

HELL YEAH this month we are celebrating our two year anniversary and hit 65,000 articles!

Congratulations on reaching 65k! That's a huge number of pages to maintain!

Future works

Next month should mark further style changes to the look of the wiki – I'll finish moving main pages to the new format, we'll finish deploying the new header, removing language toolbar in favor of sidebar and finally re-introduce the background image, so stay tuned! Some server-side things will have to wait, as Kirrus will be away for a week or two, so barred some emergency not much help here, but there's a lot that we have on mind, so we'll all have our hands occupied.

I'll try hard on finalizing the Build 41 updates and clearing tasks, to provide a blank canvas for future build 42 update too, so hopefully we can speed it up. I'll try collaborating more with the various other projects, including the PZMap and the overall community and developers, so a bright future is ahead of us!

Thank you for making it to the end reading it all, see you around on Wiki and Discord, and in the next month summary! —Faalagorn/ 18:07, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

January 2024(4 February 2024)

Welcome everyone to the summary of the first whole month of 2024! Now that we're deep in 2024, I archived all the 2023 monthly summaries to the 2023 archive, and changed the header names so they refer more to what the news were about. Hopefully for 2024 we will have a full 12 of the monthly summaries, with all the project summaries started in late 2023!

Despite some minor setbacks, this month was again much productive, let's start with the projects summary.

Project Electricals and Transmission

First off, let's congratulate to Calvy for manning up and bringing the final push for Project Electricals and Transmission and everyone else for contributing! The next in line will probably be Project Spiffo's Construction Crew, good to have another project closed, pushing focus to other ones and opening room for potential new ones in the future!

Project Build 41 Update

Project Build 41 Update again saw much love, thanks from the combined effort of Angostura, some minor additions by Stabbyson, Absolute Lambda updating missing items, Calvy's massive work, and Vaileasys hard work elsewhere, as well as everyone else contributing anything minor – you all probably saw the new infoboxes, codeboxes, models, as well as version updates – it's hard to close it totally just yet, especially as it intertwine so closely with other projects, and side activities, but it is close enough to be taken out of the everlasting site notice, combined with inability to translate it reliably and taking some space, especially with the new skin improvements (more about it below). I may also be the one trying to push it forward in the coming weeks, probably taking it off Vaileasys's shoulders (who's busy with Project Navigation and Categories and some template works, currently focused on adjusting new infoboxes and skins, which you probably noticed already), after our brief discussion for those following us on the official Discord server.

Project Locations and Maps

It's hard not to mention Project Locations and Maps without a great dose of admiration how much dedication is being put into updating it, here's the summary from the project leader, ThinkDock1721!

Hi all, ThinkDock here. While there were a few heated debates and some speed bumps along the way, January was a monster of a month for locations and maps! Here's a quick summary:

First off, I want to give an enormous thanks to Calvy for willingly tackling Louisville. It's quite the juggernaut, but they've managed to not only make a table with all the businesses, but also began the arduous process of elaborating on all the businesses so they're no longer stubs! There will be some cleanups required as always, but it's a monumental effort for just one person to take on. Thank you so so much!

Our long-time contributor Ikip categorized almost all of the location pages, and also helped out with some minor edits here and there. Thanks!

We also had some minor edits and small contributions from the following users:

Thanks everyone!

I personally completed my project of finishing all the spawn towns, managing to get all of both Muldraugh and West Point done this month. (Late nights galore!) I also restructured the project page a bit.

As for the plan for the future, with Ikip categorizing all the locations themselves and Calvy tackling most of Louisville, I'll be free to do some collaboration with the folks at PZWiki:Project Navigation and Categories to categorize all the images and business logos that were missed by the bots.

After that, It'll be on to the minor towns of March Ridge and Valley Station, and then off to Louisville for some cleanups!

However, once that's done, I'll be steering the project more towards challenge maps, site maintenance, and minor tasks until build 42 arrives with the new towns we all desperately want. It will be updated on the job board once I have all the ideas and tasks worked out.

That's just me though, feel free to use the project's talk page or the Discord to discuss ideas! See you all next week!

(please help it's 2:48AM right now and I have work at 7AM, I haven't even slept and I'm on for a 10 hour shift please help)

Hopefully ThinkDock will be able to get some rest though, especially we're on the right track starting a collaboration with Blindcoder to bring updates to POIs on the epic official map up to date with the ones done in the wiki – we'll start with making the Project Zomboid Map Project page updated and more visible, so more people can contribute to both the wiki and map project, which will be more than important after build 42 which is tentatively scheduled for the hopefully first half of this year in IWBUMS, which seems quite soon™.

Also, while minor, thanks to Missold for contributing description for Dentistry, Perfk for contributing one missing location for Wrecking yard, Chomasyean8 contributing some bits Louisville border camp, and Insp175 for adding note for the Kentucky State Prison page – those bits help too, thank you!

Project Modding

Project Modding sadly continues to be a tad neglected and most likely won't see a big push/update and stay open way past build 42 (which will surely bring a lot of modding updates!), though it's understandable most of the editors want to focus on adding content and modders do their job, but there were some minor additions nevertheless:

As always, thank you even for the tiniest contributions!

Project Navigation and Categories

Project Navigation and Categories finally saw the amount of work needed this time, thanks to the hard work of Vaileasys – while not yet finished, we expect it being finished soon. There's a brief summary of the works from Vaileasys.

Categories

The category project has finally received some major progress. We have the category tree mostly completed and have implemented almost every category, with just some items left. The big ones left are "Equipment/Tools", "Materials" and "Clothing". As part of this project, we're also adding the new Template:Header/sandbox2
