The Knox Military Apartments is a large apartment complex located in the center of March Ridge. There is a treasure trove of firearms and ammunition to be found inside, but players should be cautious of the large zombie population.
Interior
The interior of the complex is mainly composed of small apartments and hallways, with some small communal amenity rooms spread throughout the complex, such as laundry rooms, a reception area, and a small gym. The loot gained from the complex is extremely valuable, as it mainly consists of various firearms and ammo found within the rooms. There is also an annotated map that, when read, turns the entire complex into a boarded up "survivor home", which vastly increases the quality and amount of loot found within. However, the zombie population is quite large nearby.
Strategy
- It is not recommended to visit this location without significant preparation beforehand. Players should be very knowledgeable of the mechanics of zombie combat before attempting to clear this location.
- The vast majority of zombies in this location will be encountered in cramped interior spaces with not much room for maneuvering. It is very easy to become cornered or trapped in this location.
- The use of firearms, other than shotguns, is not recommended. Shotguns are still extremely risky to use due to the immense noise they generate when fired.
- Bring several high-quality weapons, or one high-quality weapon and lots of repair materials, as there are many zombies to kill.
- Due to the enclosed nature of this location, zombies will often ambush the player from around corners, from stairways, or other unexpected angles. Be on the lookout for zombies from all directions at all times.
- Closing doors behind the player as they enter a room will help prevent ambushes by zombies when said room is being looted.
- It might be a good idea to use an emergency vehicle to lure all the zombies out into the open where they can be easily dispatched. However, this will attract many other zombies from a large area, and thus might not be the best option.
