The home VHS tape named Secrets of Spiffo's Special Sauce explains that Spiffo's was founded in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1940 by brothers John and Kevin Spifenmeister and that Spiffo's restaurants can today be found as far afield such as China, and the former Soviet Union. The person who recorded this tape says the following after explaining this.
- And yet the Spiffo's Corporation has a secret it just won't tell anyone
- A key ingredient in each of its burgers.
- Spiffo's Special Sauce.
- Just what exactly are the components of this sauce?
- if they're safe, then why keep the recipe a secret?
- And is there any truth to the rumor that the sauce was changed...
- ...just before the UK's BSE crisis began?
- Perhaps the Spiffo' servers should be asking...
- Do you want LIES with that?
Trivia
- Spiffo's was one of the original businesses in the early Project Zomboid game, along with Knox Bank, Seahorse Coffee and Fossoil on the Knox County 0.2.0r map.
- Graffiti with the name "kirrus" can be found on the back fence of the West Point Spiffo's. This is a reference to PZ's Server Manager Kirrus.
- It is suggested by conspiracy theorists on KnoxTalk Radio that Spiffo's meat is a possible cause of the Knox infection.
- In restaurants, Spiffo zombies can spawn, which give exclusive clothing.
- The town where Spiffo's was founded is also the name of the Raleigh outbreak that occurred in it and gave the name to the flesh-eating virus that occurred in 1990 North Carolina just 3 years before the events of Project Zomboid began.
- This virus is not related to the Knox Event that occurred and start in July 1993 in rural Kentucky and that after July 15th of the same year and month spread worldwide.
- Spiffo World June 1992 casette shows that Spiffo, in addition to fast food franchises, had amusement parks.
