A hand axe is a one-handed weapon and tool.
Usage
The hand axe can be attached to the left or right slot of a belt for quick access and weight reduction.

The hand axe can hit up to 2 enemies at a time (with multi-hit enabled), dealing a maximum of 1.5 damage to enemies (unless a critical hit) from up to 1.1 tiles away at an attack speed of 1.
Chopping trees
A hand axe is a decent choice when chopping trees and collecting logs to turn into planks using a saw. It does 15 damage per swing. For comparison, a regular axe deals 35.
Breaking doors
A hand axe is a decent choice when breaking down doors. It does 20 damage per swing. For comparison, a regular axe deals 35.
Condition
The hand axe has a maximum condition of 10. Its rate of degradation is influenced by the axe and maintenance skills. The chance of losing durability can be simplified to the following formula: 1 in (15 + maintenanceMod × 2)
. Where "maintenanceMod" is calculated using the axe and maintenance skills.
Below is an example of the chance of losing durability at varying levels of the maintenance and axe skills.
